Name: Blaise Cain
Age: Fifteen
Date of Birth: March 17
Birthplace: Blackthorn City, Johto
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Face Claim: Yosuke Hanamura from Persona 4.
Appearance:
Distinguishing Features: N/A
Height: 5'7''
Character Type: Student
Personality: Blaise is generally a very outgoing individual. He is an extrovert, and as such he enjoys interacting with other people. No matter what, he generally has something to say to somebody. It takes a very grave situation indeed to reduce Blaise to silence. Some might call him loud mouthed, or say that he lacks tack. These people are probably right. He takes his talkative nature too far sometimes, and it is not uncommon for him to talk over people. He also tends to be a little rude and insensitive, though he doesn't realize it. He truly does like people, and is generally an optimistic person and is an excitable one as well.
Blaise also tends to have a very take charge attitude, regardless of whether he should be in charge or not. He is also stubborn, and the two can prove to be a problematic combination. He butts heads with those who disagree with him, and will gladly argue the issue to death and back. Some might call him hotheaded. He also tends to be a fairly self-righteous person, and when he clashes with people over it, he makes his displeasure known. He also has slight trouble with authority, and has been described as a "rebel without a cause".
He is also a young man with extreme confidence. Some might even call it arrogance, but he does not see it this way. The way he sees it, if he does something well, he has a right to be confident.
Likes: Loud music, getting his way, interacting with other people, being right.
Dislikes: Long periods of being alone, being proven wrong, following rules he considers stupid, and losing.
History: Blaise was born in Blackthorn City, the child of a dragon tamer, his mother, and a salaryman, his father. From his earliest years, he was surrounded by Pokemon, particularly Dragon types. As such, he has a deep respect for the type. From the beginning, his mother had groomed him to become a dragon tamer himself, as was tradition for her family. His father, however, wanted him to get a proper education. His early life was a rather happy one, if tense at times when his parents had rather heated arguments over what was best for him. However, his mother eventually won out and it was decided that he would learn the ways of dragon taming. It was not until he was ten years old, however, that he had his own Pokemon. His mother, finally satisfied with the progress he had shown, sent him to the Dragon's Den to capture a Dratini of his own.
There, he succeeded, after many long hours of failed fishing and trying to creep up on unsuspecting Dratini. He had all but given up when he found a small Dratini, likely the runt of its hatchmates, crawling along near the water. Strangely enough, the small Dratini did not flee as he approached, but rather charged him, trying to headbutt him. The two struggled for a few moments, until the Dratini suddenly stopped and stared at him. It seemed that the two had come to a mutual understanding and respect for one another. The Dratini allowed Blaise to capture it, and that was history.
It was not long before Blaise left Blackthorn City for the first time. His family chose to visit extended family and friends in Goldenrod City, the hometown of his father. A naturally adventurous child, Blaise took to the outskirts of the city with Gallahad, his Dratini. It was there that he would encounter the second Pokemon that he would be able to capture: a Sandshrew. The two had been running along the long grass when suddenly a Sandshrew had lunged at them from the grass, attacking Gallahad. A battle ensued, and luckily Blaise had a Pokeball on him. The two bested the Sandshrew and Blaise through the Pokeball, capturing it. This Pokemon he named Ball.
Quickly, Blaise was becoming a trainer in his own right. Just recently he had decided to declare that he was leaving home with his Pokemon so he could attempt the Johto gym challenge. His mother smiled and encouraged him, but his father finally put his foot down. They argued and argued, and the eventual compromise was that Blaise would be enrolled in Gray Haven Academy, where he could get proper schooling. Though he was disappointed, Blaise decided to make the most of it. Perhaps, he thought, that he could make connections with some good people and hone his skills even more.
