This here is a guideline for all the details that need to be known for those interested in taking, or currently taking, the Battle Tactics classes with Fiona Ivers as the instructor. Notes below cover the details of the room, how classes will be given, and the standards expected to be adhered to during class.
First and foremost, the class has been rearranged into a more traditional seating style, discarding the “circular, observatory” design that the room originally had for displays. Desks are arranged equidistantly with each other, giving students plenty of room to go around any desk in any fashion, while still granting enough closeness for the sake of shared notes. This structure is not set in stone, however, and desks will likely be rearranged as needed, or as desired by the students, in the case of group activities or similar circumstances. In the event that a display or competition for the students has been planned, it would typically be mentioned by Fiona ahead of time, and the stadium would instead be utilized.
Classes will begin typically at the beginning of a week every few weeks. Expect them on a Sunday or Monday. However, given the player's circumstances, it may occasionally start a little later (Tuesday, or even Wednesday). Do not be surprised, if this is the case.
The waiting period after opening posts as the teacher will, almost universally, be forty-eight hours. I will not post sooner than that. Again, depending on circumstances, I may take longer than that, so don't be surprised. For all subsequent posts, the timer drops to twenty-four hours. Additionally, I may post sooner if all participants from the previous round have posted.
Classes will open with Fiona setting up or waiting on class. The first “round” includes her opening the thread and students arriving. The second round is her greeting the class that day and presenting the day's topic and/or asking for reports dependent on the most recent assignment. If you have not appeared by the beginning of the second round, you will be considered late by Fiona, and, therefore, be excluded from any rewards that might have been given out during that class period. This is simply Fiona's work ethic. If you want a reward, be on time. Note: The only exception to this is the first class, which will wait until the third round before excluding rewards. Additionally, the door will be locked by this point. All late-comers will be expected to knock and politely wait.
Late-comers or absentees need only request for recordings of classes. Copies can be put on removable media devices, if presented, or emailed at request.
Outside of late-comers, active students will receive one free Rare Candy per class period. It is both an incentive for students to do their best and a means of rewarding those that actually arrive on time. Any further gifts from teacher to students would be case-by-case, and usually only under outstanding circumstances.
Notes
It should be a given, considering that this is a classroom, and not a social gathering, but all classes are considered an affair between the student and the teacher. In other words, for every post Fiona makes, you may make one. So, per student, there will be only one post per round in a class thread. Do note that you can check up on and have banter with classmates, but keep it within reason and in a low volume- Fiona's strict on this sort of thing. If you want to mingle and talk in excess, please get together after class.
More to be added as needed.
