It was beautiful outside, making it an excellent time to just take a walk and enjoy the day. And so Karin did. Basil came along as he always did, but her other Pokemon just wanted to laze around. Suit themselves, Karin thought. They don’t know what they were missing, or they did and just didn’t care. Regardless, there was nothing that could stop Karin and Basil from enjoying the beautiful day. (Unless a meteor hit the island, but that would never happen.)
“Skiddo!” Basil bounced happily through the sunflowers, trying to play peek-a-boo with Karin. She didn't pay attention to her Skiddo, instead she was distracted by all the sunflowers. The flowers faced the sun, as it was necessary for their survival. And there was a certain fascination Karin had for them. “Skiddo?” Basil momentarily stopped his fun, wondering why Karin was staring so intently at the sunflowers. They were just flowers to him, nothing special.
“You’d think I would be used to this place by now,” Karin said. “It’s still a breath-taking sight, like this is my first time here again. I feel like I’m being punched in the face by the beauty of it all.” She looked at her Skiddo which looked at her as if she was growing multiple heads. “I’m just being sentimental, I guess. Don’t mind me.” And the Skiddo didn’t, leaving Karin to her thoughts. She sighed. Her baby Skiddo was growing up and becoming more independent with each day. It wouldn’t be long now before he’s big and strong and can bench-press Karin.
She wandered deeper into the garden, finding the lake at the center. It was peaceful as always. Feeling incredibly calmed by the lake, Karin found a spot to lay down on dirt, between the flora. She watched the clouds, the sunflowers rustle in the wind, and the occasional Pokemon that flew by. Her eyelids couldn’t stay open, fluttering shut every now and then. A nap couldn’t hurt, right? She dozed off, content and relaxed by the garden. Basil continued his made up game of bouncing around the sunflowers while his trainer slept.
