Name: Lecia Lina Asami
Age: 13
Date of Birth: December 10th
Birthplace: Hoenn
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual (with room for self-discovery)
Face Claim: Original Art
Appearance: A fancy mecha dress!
Distinguishing Features: Well, she certainly doesn't wear that outfit all the time. Or most of the time. Really, not even half the time. Definitely not during school hours. No other distinguishing features of note! Yes, her hair is that fancy.
Height: 5'1
Character Type: Student
Personality: Lecia's...intense. She's got passion, mostly unrestrained! The passion is for giant robots, so if you let her talk about them, you'll probably have to tell her to stop. Her passion extends to basically anything else she'll do earnestly, but if you had to guess what's on parade when being talked to on off hours, you can be sure it's probably something like that. In fact, if not talked to, while in a public place that isn't class, you can be sure she's passing the time with something tied to them. Her likes and dislikes say an awful lot about how she acts as a person, since she makes her life revolve around them!
Of course, this doesn't stop her from holding actual, two-way conversations! If you approached her, she'd listen to you! She believes people are interesting, because more often than not, they are! It's just that, well, she's not used to approaching them due to her status (she's got rich parents, you see, very complicated)...so she doesn't, unless she already knows them well! It's not quite the same on the internet, but you may already know how that is!
...Though if you sneak up on her, you may find her talking to herself about one thing or another. She does this an awful lot. Definitely kinda weird.
Likes:
GIANT ROBOTS: Really, a lot of what she likes can be summed up as giant robots. The hot-blooded protagonists, the cool mechas, the cool things that the mechas DO, even the politics that some of the Real Robot (she knows the terms of course) shows get into...it's all so...cool! She likes cool. Loves cool. It's great, and basically synonymous with giant robots.
VIDEO GAMES/THE INTERNET: Might as well lump it all in one category. Obviously, her favorite video games involve giant robots, and there's a lot of those...though, she's got a unique talent for certain, intense arcade shoot-em-ups, like...that series with that flaming mecha Beedrill in it. That one's good, and she frequently makes the high score charts. It's a lot easier to find people that like the things she does over the internet too, and in the process, she's gotten well acquainted the good ol' internet! Scary place sometimes, for the uninitiated.
STUDYING: Wait, what? ...Yeah, if she didn't enjoy the pursuit of knowledge, well, she wouldn't know so much to begin with, right? She knows that she gets carried away with her hobbies (her parents told her that much), so she's sure to devote a portion of her own day to studying things that aren't being covered in class (and sometimes she flips a few pages ahead in class too). She's pretty sure she's not skipping grades specifically because she's so busy studying things that aren't really things that schools talk about! Of course, she likes giant robots more than studying, but studying brings her a step closer to realizing the dream of making a real giant robot, so it evens out.
MUSIC: And you know what's great to do while studying? Listening to music! She may not be one for playing it, but she certainly loves listening to it. It can really set the mood for a lot of things...like studying, giant robot fights, and Pokemon battles!
POKEMON: Due to unfortunate circumstances like 'being a huge nerd AND rich', a large chunk of her life was spent with her own Pokemon, which allows her to appreciate her companions even more than regular folk would! Obviously, she prefers robot-like Pokemon, whether they be Steel or simply mechanical-like (Golurk, every Regi), but she loves Pokemon in general anyway!
A CHALLENGE: Sort of tied to the giant robot thing, but when you're confident and undettered by defeat, simply doing simple tasks is almost a bit maddening. Of course, she's used to it, but...the opposite of that, being challenged...she'll rarely turn one down if it's about something she likes, regardless of the social consequences! (If there's actual, real consequences, it may vary, but if it results in the challenge being canceled, she'll be disappointed either way.)
DRESSING UP IN CRAZY MECHA SUITS: She actually owns the suit in her appearance section. Being rich has some serious perks, that's among them. She just feels so...GREAT in a good fancy mecha suit! ...Of course, they're, uh, kinda heavy...and maybe all those eyes on her feels less great if they'll all JUDGY...but hey, she's fine with looking at herself.
WATER: She got used to it, comes with living in Mossdeep. Sure, it causes rust, but she's always enjoyed a good trip to the beach! Land is fine for obvious reasons. Who would even drown the earth? It'd never work.
HERSELF: She loves herself. It keeps her going! As such, she's always in the mood to get good and make herself better...so in essence, she'll grit her teeth and take anything that does that! It's hard sometimes, but MANY THINGS ARE. A true shonen protagonist mindset.
Dislikes:
BUSYWORK: She knows the answers. Everyone knows the answers. WHY IS SHE DOING THIS? Write out how you solve the problem? Why? She did it in her head! How you solve a problem isn't important if it's a math problem! She doesn't like killing time by doing work that doesn't accomplish anything. You kill time by having fun. That's how it works. Homework and tests exist for a reason and she gets that, though they're filled with busywork on occasion which is something that doesn't have a reason and she hates it.
SPICY FOOD: Specifically, food with the intent of being spicy (there's a tolerable threshold for the stuff that isn't). Why? Why would anyone do this to themselves? IT BURNS. It just replicates being alive through pain, with a side effect of more pain when you go to the bathroom. Just some leaves room for good flavor, but things like spicy peppers or hot sauce? Forget it!
PEOPLE THAT DO THINGS BECAUSE THAT'S THE WAY THEY'RE DONE/JUST BECAUSE: Well, except for certain personality quirks. That makes people who they are! But if it's something that NEEDS a reason? That kind of archaic reasoning can destroy people, or just serve as a front for some dark mystery cult who needs to be stopped! Whoever they are. Assuming they exist. They might!
BETRAYAL: She's never really experienced it. But with how she likes herself, and how she doesn't get much human contact, you can be sure that this wouldn't be taken lightly. Pokemon don't betray! Robots don't betray (unless there's some crazy technology sabotage at work or there was an error, which isn't the robot's fault really)!
MAKING MISTAKES: You know what happens when you're great? You expect a lot out of you, and so does everyone else. Remember that time you screwed up? Not only would she remember it, but she's pretty sure everyone else does too, and they don't seem entirely wrong to not point it out every chance they get. The pressure is real, and while she doesn't hate the pressure itself, she definitely doesn't like the reasons that it's there. It's OK if other people make mistakes though, she won't be too hard on them for it!
"GIANT ROBOTS ARE DUMB": Why would you do this? The warning signs were all there! ...She'll understand if you're baiting her, but she'll take it anyway. You wanna go? Let's go. She'll go. YOU WANNA BE HER ENEMY? TRY IT.
History: Once upon a time, Lecia was born to a pair of very successful scientists. You could say they were rocket scientists...because they were. (Not to be mistaken for Rocket Scientists.) It kept them busy, but it paid very well, and allowed them to meet each other, which is more than most couples can say about most things. Being born to parents that ended up being very well known on the small island, she had plenty of room to grow up a bit weird. Perhaps intimidated by her parents, the girl herself, or perhaps even the Beldum she used to ride on, most social interaction was limited to the curious inquiry or two, as well as her parents, the internet, and the TV, which she spent a lot of time in front of. Eventually, she found something that involved cool things and technology all at the same time: super robot shows. On that, there's no further explanation needed, she loves them super robos so, so much.
Despite their many hours they spent working, she was quite loved when they were around, and for all the neat things she was able to get, they never slacked off on teaching her discipline. Perhaps such an idealistic life is uneventful, aside from what she makes of it...which, while she made quite a few things with it, an awful lot of them were achievements like 'beat a lot of games', 'got a high score', 'insisted on doing a group project by herself once since everyone had a group they liked (she got the highest grade in the class)'. Sure, they're achievements, but...while most were enjoyable, they weren't...actually something. She knew she could do better, those guys in the cool anime could manage that much!
So, Lecia got it into her head that on top of the learning that she's doing already, she wants to become a proper Pokemon trainer. It's only natural that someone this great should be good at fighting with Pokemon, otherwise they'd have some damsel in distress if anything crazy happened, which no one is OK with, and something like this is a lot more potent at 'wowing' people! The parents were looking at an academy for this earlier as they were thinking about her future, and were startled by her seemingly reading their minds. They continued taking it into consideration...and figured this was an answer to a lot of things. And so, Lecia was on her way to get all kinds of smart! All the kinds of smart. The smartest kinds of smart. Yes.
Dorm: Bolt Dorm
Uniform Color: Silver
Starter Pokemon:
Species: Beldum
Nickname: Granzon
Move: Take Down
Ability: Clear Body
Lecia's long time companion. A Pokemon with great potential, though at the moment all it can really do for combat is ram itself into things with force. Despite this, it's particularly smart, and the two have a close enough bond for her to understand the Beldum with what little body language it can give off! It has an unnerving disposition, but it appreciates Lecia, so she doesn't mind keeping it on the straight and narrow sometimes. Capable of taking hits. Given to her by her parents at an early age.
Species: Golett
Nickname: Mazinger
Moves: Earthquake, Shadow Punch, Dynamic Punch, Iron Defense
Ability: No Guard
Lecia's shorter time companion. The decision to send her off to a distant school wasn't the easiest one they made, so they thought to give her a tougher Pokemon too. What it has in strength and ability, it lacks in actual skill, the poor thing's pretty clumsy, and has never dodged an attack...but yet, it's never missed! Likes to thrash about. Given to her by her parents a few months before she was welcomed to the academy, they've hit it off pretty well in the small time they've had together!
