This was the best of any place to begin 'the tour' for Soren, the teen found the mysterious ruins of the once magnificent structure just too good to pass up. He kept to the outer yards with his eyes practically sparkling at every single pebble of design he could spot that wasn't of natural causes. Shoka hovered closely to her master, the absol much more on guard than the boy who trudged about. It was definitely safe to say that he was enjoying the beginning of his school life more than his classroom reactions would lead to believe.
Notebook in hand with his pen running rampant on the pages, the boy was rattling on about this and that; most of it being gibberish to his pokemon's ears. It probably wasn't the smartest idea to go digging about in his school uniform, the black already tainted by smudges of dirt and a few clinging pieces of vegitation. Even his hair held some foliage from when he tried to climb up a series of vines that had laddered a wall. The bruises on his hands and butt proved that was not the best of ideas. Not in the least. Shoka still seemed to be fuming about that too, the fluffy white pokemon practically had her chest or side attached to him. He wouldn't complain though, she was quite warm. And fuzzy. Fluff was always good in cold places.
"Shoka! Shoka! We should check inside! This was once a palace y'know! Ah man, I can't wait to get back to the library for some research." Soren tugged excitedly at his pokemon's shoulder, giving her a good scratch in the the thick of her mane. The pokemon let out something like a snort, leaning against him until he stood; then she just clung to his side. It was clear she was not nearly as happy to be heading into more 'danger', guessing the dark-type could feel and hear the 'residents' of this ancient palace. For the boy though, experiencing and seeing what could live in such a place as well as how time claimed back the built was more than magical to him. It was downright heart-racing! It almost made him want to skip, a smile clearly seen through the gap in his mask.
