Personality:
Gentle, quiet and slightly timid are three words that would describe Alyssa’s usual behaviours. She likes to read, naturally, and often can be seen reading one of the books in the library she works in, or reorganising and sorting out what the library does and doesn’t have. She can be nervous talking to people the same age or older than her, as she doesn’t have a lot of experience interacting with others, but she tries to make herself heard wherever she can simply because she knows if she doesn’t, she can’t really get anywhere.

However, get her started talking about a book- or disturb the peace of the library- and it is quite hard to get her to stop again. She adores books of all kinds, and simply cannot stand the thought of someone being so rude as to disturb another’s study time. It is for this reason her Pokémon frequently patrol the library, ready to chase out anybody who even looks like they might be trouble- whether they be student or staff.

History:
Alyssa was born in Unova, in Nimbasa City, to a single mother- her father died of illness before she was born. She spent her entire childhood there, and while it wasn’t particularly eventful, she enjoyed it immensely- especially obtaining her first Pokémon aged ten, a Hoothoot gifted to her by her brother, Ryan, who was two years her senior and already owned a Persian and a Liepard. Even from an early age, it was hard for someone to get her away from books- she would always be reading how to train her Pokémon the right way, how to befriend them and how to look after them. By the time she was twelve, she had evolved her Hoothoot into a Noctowl, and developed a strong fascination that was borderline to obsession when it came to Eevee and its evolutions, already beginning to collect them. When she was fourteen, her mother died in an accident, though Alyssa never learnt the specifics. Ryan took over the care for his sister, and Alyssa managed to remain strong whilst knowing she had her brother, even if he was overprotective.

At the age of sixteen, Alyssa was attacked by a particularly hot-tempered Flareon which had just evolved. Though she was badly burned by his attack, once she had recovered she still kept him, and named him Ignis. Under her Vaporeon, Aqua’s guidance, Ignis slowly calmed down and stopped attacking her and became one of her most loyal Pokémon- and certainly one of her favourites, though she always tried not to pick favourites.

Eventually Alyssa decided it was time for her to move on and find her own place, and began looking for a job. Knowing she liked books, her brother found a job as a librarian and suggested it to her- she jumped at the chance, and soon found herself on her way to Gray Haven Academy, leaving her brother behind.
