Toni wandered through the dark caves, accompanied by her Noibat. The timid Pokemon had been restless lately, so she thought a few hours outdoors would help calm her nerves. That seemed to work on her most of the time, so why not Fluorite? Besides, it was a good chance to spend some quality time together. She thought she was getting Fluorite to the point where she wasn’t scared all the time, and she wanted to keep making progress. Fear wasn’t fun. Not when there was no “off” switch.

The Noibat suddenly squeaked and perched on her hand. Toni froze, looking around as if her sight was her most helpful sense here. Had she seen or heard something nearby?

Toni smiled as, a moment later, the cutest little rock creature appeared right in front of her.

“Hey there, little guy.” She tried to take a step forward, but Fluorite suddenly shrieked and gripped at her hair, trying to fly in the opposite direction.

“H-ow!” Toni fought to free herself from the Noibat. “Fluorite, what—“ But then she saw it. The Roggenrola started to glow white. That…was not a good sign. Following the Noibat’s lead, she ran as fast as she could away from the rock, turning the corner just as the explosion shook the cave they’d all been in.

Toni waited a few moments after her ears stopped ringing and the sounds died out before returning to the cave. She winced at the sight of the fainted Roggenrola and scooped it up, hurrying out of the Krag so she could get its wounds tended to. She’d make the capture official as soon as it was healed.
