After Quiliam, Charles decided to stay in the Forest a bit longer. He brings Quiliam out to keep Cyr and Tyna company. The three start to play Hide-and-Seek.

Having gotten tired of Nibble biting stuff, he returns her to her Pokéball. "There are so many types of Pokémon here. I never would've thought that a Fire-type would be in the Forest. I'm surprised it hasn't been burnt down..."

While the trio of Pokémon were away hiding and trying to find each other, a green bug comes flying out of the brush at Charles. Ducking just in time to avoid an attack, Charles tosses out a Pokéball. From the red light that comes out, a small, lazy tortoise appeared. "Koal!"

"Cole? Thought I grabbed Rox... Oh, well. Let's go, Cole. Use... that fire ball... attack... thing." Still unsure what the attacks actually were, Charles was sure that Cole would be confused. But Cole inhales and shoots a ball of fire at the Scyther. The fire ball lands and explodes, seemingly doing a lot of damage to the Bug-type.

"Scyyyy!" The Scyther's scythes seem to form a black aura before it charges at Cole, easily hitting the much slower tortoise.

"Cole!" With another Fire Blast, Cole renders the opponent unconscious.

"Alright!" Charles tosses a Pokéball, easily catching the fainted Pokémon.
