Luke wandered into the decaying power plant and looked around, trying to peer into the darkness in the hopes of spotting a suitable teammate. Midnight walked beside him, her footsteps as quiet as she could manage and her ears pricked. Behind her was Stripe – a Zigzagoon he’d brought along for her special ability. He’d been at this place before and found a Pokemon he was rather fond of, and he was hoping to have that kind of luck again. That, and he’d recently read about an electric type with the levitate ability and wanted to see if such a Pokemon really existed. A Pokemon like that would have no natural weaknesses, which would certainly help him out on missions and raids.

The trio headed inside the plant a ways, until they came to a rickety-looking flight of stairs. Luke climbed up a few steps and sat down, hoping the added height would help him find what he was looking for. Stripe climbed up to sit beside him while Midnight sat down at in front of the steps, her gaze fixed straight ahead.

Well…that wasn’t what he was looking for, but he may as well go for it. He nodded Midnight forward, and she trotted toward the Voltorb, intent on befriending it like she tended to do with Pokemon she just met.

And befriend it she did. The Voltorb had watched her warily, but all it took was a play bow and a few friendly barks, and soon the two Pokemon were chasing each other and wrestling. Well… Midnight was wresting. The Voltorb made a game of trying to throw her off as she play-tackled and tried to restrain it.

The two played like that for a while, but Midnight returned to Luke as soon as he stood up and came down the stairs. The Voltorb remained where it had been, but Midnight encouraged it forward with a tail wag. Or…what passed as a tail wag for her.

“It’s time to go.” He rubbed between the Houndour’s ears, and then the Zigzagoon’s so she wouldn’t feel left out. “You can come with us, if you like.”

The Voltorb inched closer. Luke nodded to it and then headed out of the plant with the trio of Pokemon following behind (he'd make the capture official later). He wanted to try again, but first he’d need some food…and maybe a nap or two.
