Toni returned to the beach, this time clutching on to Fluorite’s feet as the large bat flew over the sand. She taught the newly-evolved Noivern how to fly last week and had spent most of her time trying to get used to being airborne. The Noivern kept fairly low to the ground when she could get away with it, equally unused to having a passenger.

Once they were over the water, both Pokemon and trainer relaxed. They were flying low enough that Toni would just splash into the water unharmed if she lost her grip. That…was a little scary, but she had Quartz with her as well, and the Dewgong would be able to get her back to safety easily if needed. With that worry out of the way, she gaced around at the water, searching for a particular rarity.

She didn’t encounter a Lapras, but she did see the weirdest thing swimming below her. She released Quartz from her pokeball and dropped down beside her, pulling Fluorite into her pokeball so the batlike Pokemon could rest for a while. Then she sent out Hematite – the Doublade could use the experience, and she wouldn’t be bothered by the water like some other members of her team.

Hematite floated toward the Panpour, who stopped swimming to float on its back. She circled around the Panpour and prodded it a couple times with one of her ribbons, but it simply smiled lazily at her and continued to float. She tried once more, but after getting no real reaction she returned to her trainer, who led her Pokemon back to the shore. That was that for this event…maybe they should get some food and try again later.
