Celine continued on as the sun slowly started to set. She knew she’d have to go home pretty soon, but she wanted to give the woods one more try before she started the journey back. At least it wouldn’t be a long journey, and she had company with her. Mallow floated around her, occasionally circling her or going on ahead for a bit but never straying too far from his trainer. She was glad of that – he was pretty well behaved for a Pokemon with such little training.

She thought she heard something up in the branches of the tree to her right, so she glanced up, trying to see what she’d found. Mallow stopped to stare up as well, likely wondering what his trainer was looking for.

Well, it wasn’t what she was looking for, but it was one of the Pokemon on her list. She’d take it. She nodded to Mallow as the Sewaddle appeared. “Looks like you get another playmate. Let’s try to befriend this one, all right?”

The Castform let out an excited cry and floated down to the Sewaddle, speaking in a language only Pokemon could understand. She listened to them for a while until they started playing around the bushes.

Eventually, just as night was beginning to fall, the Castform returned with the Sewaddle in tow. She gave each a pat on the head, picked up the Sewaddle, and headed home, happy that she’d made progress even if it wasn’t the way she wanted..
