Toni made her way to the citadel once again, thanks to Hematite’s Cut. The Aegislash hovered near her while Spessartite walked by her side. Serendibite was in front of her, sniffing around curiously. The Poochyena probably wouldn’t be a match for anything they found here, but she had her battle team to help with that if it came down to a fight. Since they were all fully evolved, it was her contest team’s turn, and why not start with the first contest Pokemon she’d acquired?

As she reached the citadel, she heard a strange cry. She quickened her pace, prompting her Pokemon to do the same. Would that be the pokemon she sought, or would this encounter be for experience only?

Yes! That was what she’d come here for! She motioned for Serendibite to stay back and watch and let Fluorite out of her Pokeball.

“Air Slash! You should be able to do this in a couple rounds,” Toni encouraged the batlike Pokemon.

Fluorite gave her a doubtful stare but did as requested. The Volcarona retaliated with a Flame Blitz, but Fluorite was able to withstand the move and go in for another Air Slash.

The Volcarona tried String Shot next, but that wouldn’t do it much good. Toni tossed a pokeball and watched as it rolled around. Eventually, it stopped, and Serendibite retrieved it for her trainer.

“Good job, everyone.” She glanced around at her team. “Let’s get out of here.”

Hematite led the way, cutting a path home. Everyone else stuck close to Toni – this place could be dangerous, so it was best to look intimidating until they were clear of the thorns.
