She’d enjoyed her time in the restricted zones until around the end, but she was grateful to be back to exploring the nearby areas for the time being. Too much of any place made it tedious, she supposed, at least nowadays. Was this a sign of growing up? Or was it general restlessness?

Toni made her way through the manor, with Amber floating beside her. The Phantump looked oddly at home in here, but then she should be used to it. The dorm looked a bit like this, didn’t it?

Something moved into a room just down the hall, and Toni sprinted after it, peering into the darkness at whatever she’d found. Would it be a new friend, or an event leading to Amber’s growth?

That was a pretty neat-looking Pokemon, but it wasn’t one she was interested in. She instructed Amber to stick close and brought Moonstone out to battle instead. The Pokemon she’d found was a Klefki, and she thought she remembered them being steel-type. A fire move would be best in that case.

“Fire Blast,” she ordered.

Moonstone did as instructed, and the flames seemed to do their job a bit too well. The Klefki cried out, but the cry was cut off abruptly. Once the attack ended, the Klefki fell unconscious, and Toni called Moonstone back into her pokeball.

“I guess that works.” She turned to Amber. “Let’s keep looking.”

And so they did.
