After Charles had looked up what Pardas was able to use, he came to the conclusion that he was using Assist, randomly using moves from the rest of his party. While that was cool and amusing, Charles decided to leave Pardas at home for this excursion. Since he was right by the Dorm anyway, he decided to explore the Blazed Dunes again. Last time he was hear, Nibble and Pinc fought, leading to Pinc's capture. This time around, Pinc, Nibble, Scurry, and Chiro would be helping him explore.

While they were exploring, a small, green Pokémon with a red belly jumped out at them. Out of reflex, Charles grabbed one of the Pokéballs at his hip. The chances of pulling one that still had a Pokémon in it was one in three since Nibble, Chiro, Scurry, and Pinc were already out. Luckily, he managed to toss out Hawkeye, a Skarmory. Charles checks his PokéDex to see what he needed to know about this dragon-looking... thing.

"Larvitar, the Rock Skin Pokémon. Larvitar is born deep under the ground. To come up to the surface, this Pokémon must eat its way through the soil above. Until it does so, Larvitar cannot see its parents."

With an entry like that, it was obvious that this tyke was a dual Rock- and Ground-type Pokémon. That also meant that Hawkeye was probably the best match-up. "Alright, Hawkeye! Go for a Steel Wing!"

As the Skarmory dove in for the attack, his wings glowed silver. The Larvitar opened its mouth and charged a dark, almost-black ball of energy. Just as it shot the ball at Hawkeye, the Steel Wing connected with its own target, knocking the Larvitar unconscious.

"Good job, Hawkeye!"
