He’ll hint at information that could be true to see if his opponent shows a card for him but he also keep a few cards up his sleeve and may even record information and battles in secret for later study. However what he usually speaks is truthful even if it irks people.

History: Karl is a Johto native his home city was Cherrygrove City. Like many of his home town, He went over to New Bark Town to start his journey and get a starting Pokemon picking up a rash Female Cyndaquil he called Pyra. He went through the Johto Region gathering Pokemon in a team and teaching them move and going through a journey earning badges and challenging the Johto league quickly becoming known for his poker like strategies sometimes even pulling out a hidden move that he taught to his Pokemon to deal with a particular problem. He made his way through the Johto and Kanto regions in his first two years, Hoenn and Sinnoh in his third and fourth year respectively and finally Unova and Kalos in his fifth and sixth year. Each year becoming stronger and stronger and learning more and more and adding the knowledge he gained to his deck of cards. With six years of journeying under his belt he had amassed a lot of pokemon knowledge and decided to apply that knowledge to teaching others. He got a teaching degree in Pokemon and applied to the Gray haven academy a few years back because he knew Harmonia Island was home to many Pokemon from all the regions and it was the go to place for a new teacher. His teaching ways was similar to the ways of playing cards. He would have a base learning plan but always made time for one on one teaching or small group activities. About a year ago he met a student named Santos Almaz who seemed to be quite the student teaching his Pokemon various combos and moves that worked wonders against opponents however he never really got along with the others in class and he was in often preferring solo work with his Pokemon. When Santos submitted papers to drop out of the academy. Karl wondered what cards Santos was holding and if there was anything he did wrong. He did a little investigation over the term break and met with Santos parents. Santos parents informed him of their son’s quirks and assured him that it wasn’t his teaching and in fact out of all the classes it was Karl’s who Santos enjoyed the most and that it was more of the other students that Santos didn’t get along with not the teachers. With the new term approaching, Karl was hoping Santos would reconsider his dropping out but Santos was not on any of his class rosters to the academy. Karl wasn’t one to give up so easily on a student with a lot of potential so he making it his mission to find out what Santos is up to.
