Name: Katastrofea "Kata" Park
Age: 24
Date of Birth: February 12th
Birthplace: Kalos
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual
Face Claim: Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid
Appearance:
Distinguishing Features: It's definitely easy to pick Kata out in a crowd. Her dyed-cyan hair cascades straight down to her knees, though they're often pulled up in two high pigtails. She owns many flashy outfits due to her mother's states as an acclaimed fashion designer, but usually wears plain colors and clothing, especially at work.
Height: 5'8"
Character Type: Librarian
Personality: Quiet and thoughtful, Kata can be found nestled in the depths of the library, poring through a book she had probably already read a hundred times over or happily helping students in their quest for knowledge. She's very intelligent and studious, having read and reading hundreds of hundreds of books, and is more than happy to volunteer her wisdom to those who ask for it. She values knowledge above all else, and it's her dream to one day own a copy of every book in the world. It's far-fetched, but who knows? It may come true.
Somewhat scatterbrained and absentminded what with the shift from her hectic life to a relaxed position, she relies on her best friend Techy the Porygon2 to help her remember what she needs to know. In fact, all her Pokemon play a role in the library, whether they clean and organize (Melantha's job) or keep an eye out for mischief (Poltergeist). Except Ahkmenrah, but he's too big to fit in the library anyway. She's openly trusting, especially of Pokemon, and believes in second chances. And third. And fourth.
A sucker for strays, Kata often extends a helping hand to those she believes needs it, and is persistent in aiding others even if they refuse her assistance. She likes to host charity events as well, such as book drives. It's easy to take advantage, though, pushover that she is.
Likes: Books, knowledge, Pokemon, the students, the library, helping out
Dislikes:nothing Team Origin, loud noises, abuse, negative emotions
History: Raised by an acclaimed fashion designer for a mother and a hardcore Pokemon trainer for a father in Lumiose City, one of the most populous cities in the Pokemon world, Kata had always been pressured to become great and successful. She worked hard but rarely had time to relax, desperately attempting to live up to her parents' expectations. All she wanted to do, though, was read and learn. She didn't want to be a lawyer, or doctor, or fashion designer, or die-hard Pokemon trainer. She wanted to become a librarian.
Librarians didn't earn ten-digit paychecks, though, so she shoved her dream down the drain and slaved away at the prestigious private school she had been enrolled in. With the help of Techy, the Porygon2 she had been gifted to act as a tutor but became a trusted friend as well, she achieved flawless grades, won countless intellectual awards, and generally seemed as if she was on the road to success.
When it was time for her to enter college, she enrolled in Lumiose University (which was sort of like an Ivy League school of the Pokemon World), where she agreed to major in law or medicine or engineering or whatever. As soon as she was free from her restricting parents, though, she quickly signed herself up for English, Literature, and Philosophy classes, ignoring the complaints of her mother and father. For too long she had been held back by the will of her parents, but now she was cutting away the tethers.
She enjoyed herself thoroughly at the university but when she graduated she found herself wondering where to go. The great library standing tall in Lumiose City sounded appealing, but she wanted to get out of reach from her still furious parents first. Perhaps she would return when they cooled down. Instead, she flew out to Harmonia Island, where she was immediately accepted as a librarian there due to her impressive resume. Kata settled in quickly and fell in love with the beautiful flora and fauna to be found there, befriending nine other Pokemon and installing them as her unofficial assistants (save for her Wailord, who spent his days happily playing with students and Pokemon at the beaches) at the library, where she can be found to this day.
Dorm: N/A
Uniform Color: N/A
Starter Pokemon:
Techno Angel (Techy) the nonbinary Porygon2
Trace
Thunderbolt - Ice Beam - Toxic - Recover - Psychic - Tri Attack - Thunder Wave - Trick Room - Conversion 2 - Magic Coat
Techy is, without a doubt, Kata's most trusted partner and the pivotal point of the team. Calm and analytical, they have developed a rogue behavior in that despite being a man-made machine, they have developed a personality and will of their own. With the many programs at their command and their ability to program even more software of their own, they work as a translator (usually from Pokemon to English, though they have an arsenal of languages at their disposal), an informant, a hacker, etc. When Kata is sick or otherwise unavailable for class, Techy is even able to act as a suitable librarian in her place. They are always resourceful, prepared, and hardworking, as well as efficient and strategic. However, they constantly grapple with the concept of themselves: are they truly alive? Are they their own person? Do they have free will, a personality? Or are they just programmed to act the way they do? They dislike showing weakness, however, and only confide in Kata with their problems and secrets.
Ondine the female shiny Vaporeon
Water Absorb
Wish - Scald - Protect - Heal Bell - Surf - Baton Pass - Acid Armor - Rain Dance - Hydro Pump - Haze
Graceful and breathtakingly beautiful, Ondine possesses a streak of independence that creates the free spirit in her. Kind and gentle, she treats others with respect and delicate care. Well, not all others. Having had her heart broken by many male Pokemon and trainers past, she detests all males and shuns them from her concern. Though she'll (reluctantly) battle alongside them and tolerate them as her teammates, she mistrusts them and will rarely associate with them under social circumstances. An avid feminist and misandrist, it will take a long time for her to overcome her bitterness towards the opposite gender.
Robspierre (Robbie) the male Alakazam
Magic Guard
Psychic - Teleport - Calm Mind - Light Screen - Future Sight - Trick - Telekinesis - Miracle Eye - Disable - Recover
A wise old sage, Robbie is a walking library in himself, having an IQ of over 5000 as all Alakazams do and thus knows everything that has occurred in this world. He values information just as much as Kata does, if not more, and is often found weaving marvelous tales of the past in a snug corner in the academy's library. He can outsmart even Techy but prefers to put his skills to the art of recording history, so usually he can be seen jotting notes in a musty old journal as well.
Poltergeist the genderless Shednija
Wonder Guard
Endure - Protect - Thief - Mind Reader - Confuse Ray - Heal Block - Phantom Force - Shadow Ball - Shadow Sneak - Will-O-Wisp
Apathetic and bleak, Poltergeist never speaks. Ever. Trying to talk to them will only grant you an unsettling, hollow stare. Despite this, though, he does enjoy inhabiting the library and takes his role as the librarian's assistant very seriously. They can be seen watching the students like a hawk, which pays off since people rarely cause mischief in the establishment nowadays under its watchful eye. Except Bandit.
Bandit the female Klefki
Prankster
Fairy Lock - Crafty Shield - Heal Block - Magic Room - Spikes - Thunder Wave - Play Rough - Thief - Draining Kiss - Mirror Shot
Bandit is a mischievous soul who enjoys playing harmless pranks on the students in the library, causing Poltergeist no end of grief. Playful and whimsical, she hides behind books and pops out whenever someone pulls them from the shelves, throws random people in Magic Room, sneakily nabs possessions and floats around teasing the victims with them as they run around chasing her, etc. etc. Though frustrating at times, she's pretty much the mascot of the library and is adored (and disliked) by many students.
Melantha the female Cinccino
Skill Link
Tail Slap - Bullet Seed - Rock Blast - Knock Off - Encore - Helping Hand - Swift - Sing - Safeguard - Captivate
Afflicted with a rather serious case of OCD, Melantha is a clean freak and total germophobe. She's in charge of cleaning and tidying up the library, just because she appointed herself as so. High-strung and temperamental, she's stands ready to swoop in on anyone not placing the books back in the right place, leaving their dirty handprints here and there, or, heaven forbid, sneezing without covering their mouth.
Chasing Pavements (Chase) the male shiny Togekiss
Super Luck
Nasty Plot - Air Slash - Thunder Wave - Heal Bell - Fire Blast - Roost - Lucky Chant - Metronome - Wish - Aura Sphere
Friendly and fatherly, Chase is a responsible and sensible creature who can always be relied upon to get the job done. He never lets himself get sidetracked and, like Poltergeist, takes his duties as the librarian's assistant very seriously. He's a bit of a workaholic, but he's gentle and a pleasure to be around.
Bonfire Hearts (Bonny) the female shiny Talonflame
Flame Body
Brave Bird - Acrobatics - Flare Blitz - Swords Dance - Roost - Snatch - Steel Wing - Fly - Taunt - Bulk Up
Bonny is a fiercely loyal, motherly bird with the eye of a hawk. It's strange to think that she's a librarian's assistant, since she can often be found outside training by herself. However, she does harbor a deep respect for books, even though she never learned to read. Born and raised in a dog-eat-dog, survival of the fittest-esque flock, she's undoubtedly one of the strongest members of the team and isn't afraid to show it. She comes off as brutal and violent at times, but she tries to suppress these traits.
Firefly Nights (Firefly) the female Lanturn
Volt Absorb
Scald - Volt Switch - Heal Bell - Thunder Wave - Ion Deluge - Amnesia - Eerie Impulse - Charge - Discharge - Thunderbolt
Firefly is happy-go-lucky and carefree, always wanting to play with others and drag them into adventure. Though relatively young compared to the rest of the team, she's unusually strong but doesn't realize her own strength. As such, she's quite clumsy, accidentally shocking or knocking over others with small bursts of electricity. No one can be mad at her for too long, though.
Ahkmenrah the male shiny Wailord
Oblivious
Fissure - Heavy Slam - Whirlpool - Hydro Pump - Bounce - Dive - Surf- Waterfall - Mist - Rest
Ahkmenrah isn't the brightest crayon isn't the box. Lazy and dull, he can be found sleeping in the beaches of Harmonia Island, occasionally splashing about which causes monstrous waves due to his size and weight. He can't think for himself very well, but he does enjoy battling, and playing with children, whether they're Pokemon or human. As such he can often be found spraying geysers of water from his blowhole, shooting children into the air as they squeal in delight.
