[Naveta Lejori]

Once again, Naveta needed to scale the side of Mount Magmadyne in order to continue her survey of the island.  Once again, she avoided the Blazed Dunes entirely due to her perfectly rational hatred of sand.  She was no stranger to climbing things, whether they be buildings, mountains or even the side of cliffs.  Her equipment for climbing up cliffs wasn't all that great though, so she stayed on the less steep parts of the mountain for as long as she could get away with, and then started scaling the cliff with nothing more than a few rock picks so she didn't have to depend on the rock formations for hand and foot holds.  Doing this was probably more dangerous than it needed to be, but that was kind of the story of her life at this point.

Once inside, she couldn't such much of anything at all, especially as she went deeper in.   This was perfectly normal of cave systems regardless of the color or make up of the rock.  Most of the time, caves didn't exactly have many holes to the outside, so no light could get in.  It was a common issue for people that explored caves, especially when they had to use lanterns or other devices that could go out with just a gust of wind.  Fortunately for Naveta, she had Arkose who could light up the area just fine for her.  Arkose wasn't always that good at not blinding Naveta when she needed a flashlight, but she was pretty sure that was just Arkose being an asshole and not because she lacked any kind of control.

The inside of the caves were pretty interesting.  She couldn't tell how they were formed right away as it didn't look like any kind of lava tube or normal volcanic cave formation to her.  There were actually a fair amount of layers in the rock, something she wouldn't have expected if she hadn't known there were fossils in the caves deeper in.  She cut out a little bit of the cave walls, and grabbed any stray rocks she found on the ground for looking at later.  It would probably prove interesting.

[Naveta Lejori]

Unsurprisingly, making no effort to be quiet or stealthy attracted wild pokemon.  This was one of the more convenient parts of on site work in her opinion.  Sure, the wild pokemon could be annoying if she was really focused, but right now it was just giving her a chance to rebuild a reasonable team.  Granted, it was coming together a lot faster than she was used to here.  Still, there was no reason to say no to capturing a pokemon, even if it wasn't that strong.  As nice as it would be to just use Arkose, who was already out here, in her experience Arkose couldn't keep the light up and attack at the same time.  Even though she was pretty sure Arkose was just messing with her when he made the light too bright, she didn't really blame him for not being able to use two bits of weird pokemon magic at the same time.  Even if she didn't fully understand how it worked, she could at least understand how difficult multi-tasking was.  Seeing was important enough, that this was clearly a job for Cirque.

As usual, when she came out of her ball she just flopped right back down on the ground and didn't seem particularly inclined to move.  Before Naveta could even properly bribe her into fighting, something about her existence just seemed to irritate the wild pokemon.  It narrowed its eyes and started to cause the ground to shake violently.  Naveta grabbed onto the side of the cave wall to keep her balance, but this could get pretty bad.  Making a cave shake like this could easily cause it to collapse.  The shaking wasn't that strong fortunately, but it was strong enough to cause some of the looser parts of the roof of the cave to fall, one of them managing to hit Cirque right on the head.  That was enough to get Cirque to be offended at the wild pokemon, and thus willing to fight.  Naveta wasn't sure if she could call this lucky or not, but she would certainly take it.

"I suppose we can't let it get away with that," Naveta nearly snorted, "Go hit it with Night Daze."

The ball of darkness the Zorua generated was a bit larger than usual this time, and clearly had a bit more passion into it.  Naveta was actually a little surprised at how hard it managed to hit the poor wild pokemon.  It didn't seem particularly inclined to get back up, so it was an easy catch.  Afterwards, Cirque decided to explore along with the rest of them and occasionally knocked over a few stalagmites that totally looked at her funny in frustration of the battle.
