Personality: Cole is a happy, go lucky guy who is usually smiling and laughing. He is easily excitable and very eager to tackle anything placed in front of him, so long as he finds that he actually wants to do it. Due to his nature, Cole loses interests in things just as quickly as he gains it, though this is not the case for activities he is passionate about or truly enjoys. He is fairly tenacious and only throws in the towel when he knows there’s simply no way to win. He hates when it comes to that, though.
One such thing he truly enjoys is battling, having admired Olivine City’s Gym Leader when he was a child. Cole loves to battle against other trainers, believing it to make him better as a trainer battle wise and for helping him grow closer to his Pokemon. He greatly cares for his Pokemon, treating them as friends rather than pets and grows distressed if they’re well-being is put at stake.
While Cole is a very happy and kind person, he is also incredibly snarky and sarcastic. He usually has a quip or comment to say for almost any situation. His height is not one of these situations and he will become very angry if someone mentions his lack of a vertical advantage.

History: Cole Anderson was born in Olivine City in the Johto region, the oldest of three children. His parents ran a shop in town and would have liked their son to take over the business with his two siblings, but Cole had different dreams. He wanted to be a Pokemon trainer. He admired the powerful creatures and the people who trained them, mostly because of the Ampharos that powered the lighthouse and the Gym Leader in the town. Both of these also grew his fondness for Steel and Electric type Pokemon. When he was old enough and finally gained the very reserved approval of his parents, Cole went to visit the Olivine City Gym Leader and ask them for help in getting started. Unfortunately, they couldn’t do much more than offer some advice and a Pokemon to help him get started. Cole readily accepted, leaving the gym happy with a young Beldum in hand.
Cole and his Beldum, nickname pending at the time, didn’t last very long out in the wild, though. He had run out into the grass as quickly as possible and battled with Beldum, not really understanding that the Beldum was just as inexperienced as he was and had a finite amount of stamina. He was soon running back to town as fast as he could, half dragging, half pushing the near unconscious Beldum with him. He felt horrible for doing that to his new Pokemon and he resolved to never let it happen again. He wanted to learn all he could about training Pokemon, as well as making himself physically stronger to match his Pokemon. Or at least strong enough to carry his Beldum.
Cole did all he could, but the resources available to him hit a ceiling, Cole needed to find a new way to learn what he desired. With a bit of research, he found out about Gray Haven Academy. With more resigned permission, his parents allowed him to apply and took him to the island. With a last wave, Cole said goodbye to his parents and siblings and walked into the school with Rex, his Beldum, floating by his side. He was sorted into his dorm and chose his second Pokemon, a Totodile he nicknamed Chomper.
