He shook his head, but had a smile on his face since he was amused at Kotone's reaction, "Nope, never ever. It was hard, but I managed to survive with my wit and a never-ending supply of wine cheese." boy, his mom sure loved wine, and what better to go with it besides cheese? It was probably one of the few things he knew about her that she would spend her money on, since whenever he'd check the fridge there would somehow be a block or two of that dairy product, never running out.

Luu had then looked thoughtful when asked what his favorite snack was, "Well, the cheese was good, but my absolute favorite would be ice cream." he had showed a toothy grin at her while saying this, "How'd you know I'd be into sweet stuff? Your powers of presumption are accurate, Kotone. Are you, perhaps, psychic?" of course, he was saying these things in jest, but he wanted to have fun with the conversation as the opportunities to play around with it were many.

"Oh, great! I was getting hungry too, so since you led me to the vending machines, I thought I could lead you to a restaurant." when their eyes had met, this time he didn't look away but just showed a warm smile. She had looked away again, but this time he was trying not to overthink on every little thing she did. He wondered what she was thinking about, but that teasing look was contagious, "Of course, my fair lady." he had down a bow before offering his hand, "We wouldn't want to get separated in the possible crowds, now would we?" he even gave a small wink for good measure, but honestly he would expect her to refuse.

Kotone took Luu's jokes in stride, responding with a dramatic gasp and whispering, "How did you know? No, don't tell me, I can already see it." Furrowing her eyebrows in faux concentration, she added, "You found out about my psychic powers because... you're psychic too!"

With that, she broke off into a fit of laughter, unable to keep up with the ridiculous charade. But, this was better than the awkwardness from before. Kotone could do fun. She could tease, be teased, make jokes, and hear them as easily as if it was what she was born to do. Being hyperaware of the boy standing next to her, however, was not part of her area of expertise.

When Luu bowed and held out his hand, Kotone was both pleasantly surprised and somewhat horrified, her face growing warm as he winked at her. She didn't expect to be put on the spot like this. Honestly, she had expected him to brush her antics aside, to continue on with, at most, a laugh. But, he had decided to play with it, and now Kotone was hesitating as she tried to figure out the best route to take. She could decline his hand, but, no matter what idea she came up with, it would still be awkward to refute his offer. Not to mention the little voice in the back of her head that screamed against making that choice. Likewise, she could place her hand in his, but would he really be alright with that? It seemed as though he was just playing around, so what if he didn't actually want to hold her hand? Caught between her two options, Kotone took a deep breath, and decided to throw all her inhibitions aside, if only for the moment.

Discreetly wiping her hand on her skirt — although it felt dry, it was always better safe than sorry — before placing it in his. "Y-Yeah," she stuttered, a shaky, but genuine, smile overtaking her features. "It would suck if we got separated in the crowds."

When Kotone had said that Luu too was psychic, he burst into a fit of laughter. He found himself laughing partly because of this ridiculous little conversation they were having and also because his companion was laughing as well - and he had to say that even the way she laughed was cute. It took him a few seconds to get him to regain his composure before following up with the next part of their discourse.

The laughter that had filled the air was soon replaced by a silence, a fleeting moment of disbelief on the boy. She actually took his hand? Why did he feel like his chest was getting tighter, like it was about to burst? Despite these emotions, he showed her a genuine, carefree smile, "Ah, I thank you, milady, for accepting my offer," he answered before gently placing his lips on the back of her palm. The touch was only momentary, but when he looked back up to Kotone, he felt his heart race. Ah...did he just do that? He cursed to himself, letting go of her hand.

"S-sorry. I kind of just...did that without thinking..."

To say Kotone was flabbergasted would be an understatement. She was completely, and utterly, shocked as she froze, face exploded into a bright scarlet as blood rushed to her head so quickly she could have sworn she felt faint. A cute boy had kissed the back of her hand. Kissed it! And, even though he pulled away immediately afterwards, Kotone still felt a bolt of exhilaration shoot through her.

"I-It's fine," she stuttered, eyes insistently trained on the ground. She was afraid that, if she looked at him now, she would only grow more flustered. "L-let's head out, yeah?"

She honestly hoped that he wouldn't be too upset with what had just happened. Even though it was obvious that neither of them were expecting that, Kotone didn't feel as though it was entirely unpleasant. And, if he was still willing to eat lunch with her, she wanted to learn more about him and maybe, just maybe, experience more moments like that.
