Amanda grew up in Ambarette Town in the Kalos region. From a young age she's enjoyed feeling the wind in her hair. Whenever she took a trip with her parents, she'd insist on having the window wound down. Her parents were kind people, until one day they had a disagreement. They would fight every day once she'd gone to bed, each blaming the other for something. Eventually, this led to a divorce and they completely forgot about Amanda. She was left behind in Ambarette when both her parents moved away. The owner of the local hotel took her in and raised her. The only thing left of her parents was the rainbow charm her mother had left for her. She wears it as a bracelet.
From then on out, she'd go and explore the surrounding routes. One day, she got lost in the area around parfram palace. She was fine until it started getting dark. As the sun went down, she began to panic, worried that everyone would forget her again. She was then saved by an unknown pokemon, who led her back to Ambarette town. When the pokemon returned to the palace, Amanda called out that she would work to be the strongest pokemon trainer so she would be worthy to be it's trainer. She later entered Gray Haven to learn to become stronger.
