Personality:
To put it in a rather simple perspective, Levi is a fairly relaxed young man, enigmatically expressing goodwill, and willing to sympathize if need be. Well-spoken, he has no qualms in communicating with people, as well as getting acquainted with his peers and is more than able to hold his own in a conversation, should he choose to engage in one to begin with. He tends to put a valiant effort into the work that he does, both on and off the battlefield, never intending to settle for anything less. While he may often sport a stern disposition, he strives to lead by example; set the bar high, so to speak. Despite his altruistic persona, Levi seldom enters the fray without forming some form of plan beforehand. As unpredictable as challenges may potentially be, there's nothing that Levi hates more than not being in top form.

If one would ask what a major concern regarding Levi would be, one would likely say that it's his self-indulgence in the work he does time in and time out. There may be times where the alum would get a bit too wrapped up in his own agendas, all the while emanating the impression that he doesn't seem to have much of a care in the world for anything else - in which, when one gets to know him, isn't true the slightest. In other words, his own desire to better himself, whether it be as a trainer himself or as a potential role model for students, may get in the way and perhaps cloud his judgment. Levi is also a bit of a nit-picker, namely when it comes to himself. Everything he does needs to be, well, perfect in his eyes. Should he derive from his gameplans, it's needless to say that he wouldn't be very happy about it.

In spite of all this, Levi is generally a well-mannered young man. He may come off as a stoic, but really he opts to maintain a clear head and a keen mind. While his temperaments can be a considerable factor in his overall demeanor at times, know that if he's ever being hard on you, it's really only because he cares.

History:
Born in the central western district of the Hoenn region, in the small town of Lavaridge, Levi Abel McLaren's upbringing was a rather simple one indeed. He had spent much of his younger days assisting his mother, who often tended to wounded Pokemon at the Pokemon Center. These creatures had always mesmerized the boy somehow. His interest in them only grew as time went on. Particularly, Levi was often tasked with the maintenance of the hot springs connected to that center.

The fact that the magma contained within the active volcano was what made the springs hot to begin with, didn't bother him much at all. In fact, he had grown accustomed to the humid yet soothing ambiance emulating from them. It was because of this that he had developed an affinity for warmer climates over time. What was his father doing all this time, one might ask. Traveling through the region and training Pokemon in hopes of partaking in the Hoenn League. It was sad to say that he...never quite made it...

Upon returning home, the man brought home a gift for his growing boy, in the form of an orange egg with yellow spots all around it. Levi made nothing of it though. Really, what in the name of Arceus was he supposed to do with that!? Nonetheless, Levi would keep the egg for sentimental reasons. It was a present from his old man whom he hadn't seen in years, and although they've managed to keep in touch during his travels, Levi always wanted to learn what it was like to be on an open road of free reign. The egg was kept safe in his bedroom.

It wasn't until several nights later after receiving it where the inevitable happened. The egg hatched and out came what appeared to be some kind of baby chicken...? A chick!? Yes. A chick. Not just any chick, but a baby Torchic. So it truly wasn't the egg that was gift after all. Rather, it was the surprise inside that was! Would this be the first step in learning more about the very creatures he had wished every night to learn more about? That went without saying quite frankly.

The little Torchic would soon follow Levi everywhere he went, even at times when he proceeded to perform his standard duty of cleaning the hot springs. During one of those times, the duo came across a stray Bagon there. Of course, Levi took the peculiar Pokemon into his home, not saying a word about it to anyone. The newly formed trio began training in secret for for what it felt like endless days and nights.

And so when the time came to begin considering his options for the future in terms of learning more about Pokemon and all of their endearing qualities, one school in particular had come to mind. Gray Haven Academy. It was quite a ways away from home. Surprisingly enough however, his parents didn't bother questioning Levi's motive. His old man had gotten the impression that his little boy was growing up to be just like him. Boy was he wrong! Of course Levi wanted to be nothing like his father.

He refused to be a failure!

With an attached Torchic and an antsy Bagon, no one thought he was going to live through his experience at the academy in one piece. Boy were they wrong! He managed to successfully capture and befriend a wide variety of Pokemon during his time there. Upon ultimately completing his tenure as a student in Gray Haven, the Lava inhabitant would receive two 'graduation gifts' from his parents. A majestic dragon Pokemon, and a dazzling fox Pokemon. Those two of which dad had caught during his return home, but never bothered to train himself.

Apparently, both had been tasked with watching over Levi during his time after leaving the academy, or so his old man had claimed. After giving it much thought, the new Gray Haven graduate determined that there was really nothing out there for him. With that in mind, he decided to stay put. In all honesty, that decision was namely was out of fear of failing in the outside world - like his father had.

After accepting his 'gifts', he informed his parents that he would not be coming home any time soon. Since then, he has remained at Gray Haven, now serving as a Warden for the Lava Dorm.
