Personality: Cleo is generally seen as aloof and silent. She doesn't verbally respond to most things but there's always something going on in her mind, it's just that she's too shy to speak. Naturally timid and delicate, she doesn't put any effort in making herself stand out and, if anything, prefers to just blend in with the crowd and/or nature as she's afraid of making a mistake and of being judged by most people. Aside from these, Cleo shows visible self-conscious actions such as being elusive, easily intimidated and being secretive about what she feels.
However, despite her lack of self-confidence, Cleo radiates with kindness, which is her most defining trait. She has a soft heart, unable to hold grudges, and a pair of motherly hands that nourishes everything they touch. As a student, Cleo isn't the best in her class but she's a dedicated girl who produces the best products when working alone. Her success, even though great, doesn't usually go heard about. One would never hear the girl brag- or even talk- about her victory.

History: Before arriving at Gray Haven Academy, Cleo lived in Floaroma town with her family. They owned a small flower shop to which her mother tended while her father, being a botanist, was rarely at home due to his job. As an only child, her parents were very protective of her to the point that they wouldn't let her go out and play without being supervised. This intense protectiveness rooted back when Cleo's older brother died from an accident while playing with his friends. Her parents' actions and decisions greatly affected the girl's social life that later on became a problem to all three of them.
Cleo was always locked up in their house where she'd look out the window and watch other kids play, read books, make flower crowns or help her mom with household chores. Her life was a plain routine of traveling to school and back home with her mother or aunt fetching her which went on for years. Cleo never had the heart to go against her parents' wishes knowing how broken they were after brother's death. In order to make them happy, she decided to understand them and comply to their rules.
She was around 12 when she met and befriended Bloo, an oddish that made her life a little less lonely. Cleo met the pokemon in their garden when she was helping her mother water the flowers. Having unusual leaves, she was intrigued and pulled it out but was surprised and startled when he screamed loudly. Although a bad start, the two gradually became friends after Cleo saw he uprooting himself, revealing that he was a pokemon. The girl would give the Oddish berries and would fertilize the soil ever so often to give him a place to stay. This friendship was eventually discovered by her parents to which they allowed, though her mother was a bit reluctant. Since then, Cleo and Bloo became best friends.
Applying for Gray Haven Academy proved harder than Cleo thought. She heard the school from a classmate, who happened to be interested in becoming a trainer. She was enticed not only by the thought of learning more about pokemon but as well as living in a community filled with new species. Also, Cleo saw it as an opportunity to reinvent and/or find herself. She knew that starting over in a place filled with new people but the thought of Bloo, her objectives and that tiny spark of desire to break free from her cage convinced her otherwise and gave her strength. Convincing her parents was the hardest thing to do though her determination and passion penetrated through her parents that had finally made them agree but of course with conditions; she needed to prove to her parents that she was ready to stand on her feet. She sailed off Sinnoh Region with her father and Bloo, determined to show her parents that she can indeed take care of herself.
