Personality: Energetic, friendly and kind are three words that could be used to describe Samuel. He very rarely runs out of energy, and as a result rarely walks anywhere- if he wants to go somewhere, he goes at a run. As the youngest in a large family, he is used to having to speak up to make himself heard, and tends to shout a lot even when the person he is talking to is right next to him. This is not usually out of rudeness- he just gets so excited he can’t help himself.
Samuel is also adventurous. He often can be found exploring and trying to find new things, as he's very curious. He could even be considered quite bright, were it not for his habit of ignoring what people tell him and trying to do his own thing. He can be very stubborn at times- if he wants to do something, there are very few people who can stop him. He also becomes quite hot-headed if he thinks someone is trying to boss him around.

History: Samuel grew up in Aquacorde Town as the youngest of eight, and much of his early childhood was spent being cared for by one of his older siblings rather than his parents, who were trainers and often away training their Pokémon. But while some of his siblings were responsible, others were not, and Samuel often found himself ignored because of it.
So he turned to finding his own amusement. Whenever one of his more neglectful siblings was supposed to be keeping him out of trouble, Samuel would sneak out and wander through the town, often alongside the riverbank. Sometimes he would lean over and wonder about what it felt like to swim under the water- he had never tried before. And one day, when he was eight, he leant too far and fell in. Unable to swim, he would have drowned if one of his sisters had not been looking for him and sent out one of her Pokémon to save him. Since that day Samuel has been terrified of water.
Soon after the water incident, Samuel’s sister decided to have one of her pokemon, an Absol called Rune, keep a permanent eye on him. Rune followed Samuel everywhere, never hesitating to help Samuel if he got himself into any trouble. The two quickly built up a good relationship, and Samuel would often proudly announce Rune as his pokemon to anyone he saw.
Eventually Samuel’s siblings began to move on in life and left home, until Samuel and his sister were the only ones staying at home. It was then Samuel’s sister caught him a Shinx and suggested he attend the academy. Excited to start a new adventure, Samuel decided to go and together with Rune and the newly caught Shinx (whom he nicknamed Strike), he set out to Gray Haven Academy, with his only goal being to discover new things and develop stronger bonds with his pokemon.
