Skyler is athletic in build. While she certainly no body builder, she has considerable lean muscle and a healthy weight. She is on the petite side, and, as such, is more sinew and agility and precision than brute force. She has dyed her hair to match her electric blue eyes, and maintains it fairly well. Her figure is rather petite, in part due to her age, and in part due to the way that is simply how she is built. While she will fill out a bit as she gets older, she will never be as voluptuous or well endowed as some of her classmates.

Skyler is an incredibly intelligent and motivated individual. She studies hard, and trains harder- often being seen bonding with her pokemon, or physically keeping herself in shape. She is incredibly devoted to her schoolwork, often reading up on any topic she can get her hands on, and employing an abstract means of thinking. This makes her fighting styles a bit unusual, as she is prone to using creative and unorthodox methods. Believing that balance is an incredibly important part of becoming a great trainer, Skyler is looking at being both a Coordinator and a Trainer, using the precision and strength combination to further separate herself from the crowd. Skyler is strategic and quick thinking, often coming up with plans and solutions on the fly that, on most occasions, prove to be effective.
This being said, Skyler is a bit slow to warm up to people. While not unfriendly, she can come across as a bit cold toward people who don't know her, as she finds small talk awkward. Being an introvert, she spends a lot of her free time with her pokemon or alone. Though, she is appreciative of company on occasion. Again, Skyler isn't antisocial, but a bit ungraceful in initiating social situations. Once someone gets to know her, they will find a witty individual with a dry, sarcastic sense of humor. Skyler is incredibly compassionate and loyal to those that bother to try to pry past her icy exterior.
Romantically, Skyler is even more awkward. Being demisexual, and, therefore, among the gray area asexualities, she takes a long time to feel attraction to anyone. She has a considerable amount of trouble with the question as to whether or not she finds someone attractive, as she rarely, if ever, feels an initial physical attraction to someone. This all being said, she is looking more to her studies and making herself the best trainer and coordinator she can be rather than finding a beau.
Skyler is active, and has an incredibly hard time being sedentary. As such, she keeps herself and her pokemon on a fitness regiment. Nimble and quick, she is capable of small feats of acrobatics and has a decent amount of endurance. This being said, Skyler also despises needless acts of violence. While she is okay with pokemon battles, finding it to be a bonding experience between pokemon and trainers, she cannot fathom what drives people to senseless brutality, and, as such, is usually rather pacifistic. However, should it come down to it, she will defend herself.

History:
Skyler grew up in the Johto region. Life was fairly normal for the girl in her younger years. Her mother and father ran a daycare, and bred pokemon. As such, she grew up around them. Her love of the creatures began early, often playing with the pokemon that came through the daycare, as well as her parents' pokemon. Her father's Arcanine, patient and loyal, patiently allowed her to climb on him and pull his ears, and other such things children did. Her mother's Vaporeon often patiently followed the clumsy toddler, keeping an eye on the little one when her mother was out. Her older brother, more than 15 years her elder, came in and out, becoming an excellent trainer. His pokemon were bonded to him unlike anything Skyler had ever seen
Things were idyllic. Perfect, almost. Skyler longed to one day have pokemon of her own. Time went by, and she grew older and stronger, watching as her family life continued to be well and good. There was always food on their table. She was loved. Life was... fine.
It was when Skyler was about eight that things began to sour, or at least in a way she had noticed. Her mother became colder toward her, her parents began to argue. The harmony in the house fell apart. Her brother stopped coming around as often, and then he was hardly there at all. Over time, the story came out. Skyler had been the product of an affair between her father, and a young woman who would, likely, never be a part of Skyler's life. The resentment had finally grown to a point that her mother hadn't been able to take it anymore, and years of "putting it behind them" ultimately put her parents' marriage in more jeopardy than it had ever been in.
Shortly before coming to the academy, Skyler was given a gift. Her first pokemon. Of the three Starters in her area, Skyler chose a Totodile. The two quickly bonded, and she quickly gave him the name "Tide". Shortly after, she was given another from an unlikely source- her mother's Vaporeon.
Of the offspring she had produced in her most recent litter/egg batch, one had come out a little different- the Evee's pelt a shining silver rather than a soft brown. As such, the Vaporeon had presented the little one to Skyler, and the silver Evee and her quickly bonded. Skyler presented her with the name "Shimmer".
