Jason is quite obviously a large person; standing at almost five feet nine inches and weighing in at almost one hundred and thirty pounds. It's obvious that he's larger and more built than most children his age. His hair is long and spiky, though seems well kept for its otherwise unruly behavior. His almost watery-looking eyes are the same brown color as his hair. His skin appears moderately tanned, due to his love for the outdoors.

Whenever not in class and in appropriate weather, Jason is more a 'dress for comfort' type of person. Often he bears a light colored t shirt, of which is obviously baggy, that is often paired with beige khakis. Sandals are more common in rural places as well as beaches, while he admires tennis shoes otherwise. Whenever he is out adventuring and not in his dorm or around town, Jason seems to appreciate large, baggy shorts with very few pockets, but a place for his Pokeballs. He often wears his running shoes whenever he's bearing his traveling gear, as well as a short sleeved shirt and vest. A baseball cap is often worn a very sunny afternoons.

In the event that he runs into cold weather, Jason packs an extra set of clothing for the occasion. This outfit consists of a rather fluffy-looking jacket with a hood, and a pair of brown overalls are worn underneath; a pair of jeans underneath those to keep his legs warm. Blue mittens and a red and white striped scarf are also to be worn with his outfit. He will more than likely wear his boots in cold weather as well.

His backpack of choice appears to be a single-strapped green backpack whose strap is often over his chest. It seems small and doesn't appear to hold much besides the necessities. There is also a spot on his belt where six Pokeballs may hang for easy access. Under any of shirts, he often wears a necklace of some sorts; it appears to be a blue stone of some sort that hangs off of a small string, and seems to have no use whatsoever besides to just look nice. It is rare that he takes this off.

Jason's school attire is quite simple, all things considered. His uniform is normally well kept, and never really appears dirty whenever in class or around school in it. His undershirt and tie are a deep purple, while the vest, coat, shoes and pants are blue.

The only distinguishing features Jason really has is his height compared to most his own age.

PERSONALITY ;;

Jason is a rather cheerful and charming young man. He often greets people with a friendly demeanor which is by no means faked, and thus considered a rather nice and friendly person by those that meet him. He often tries to keep his head held high, and often attempts to keep his friends happy in most situations. He also tends to be a rather compassionate person; nice to others, as stated before, and doesn't like to assume things about others or make decisions about them before getting to know them. Because of his compassion, he tends to act kindly towards others - even if they are not so nice to him - he meets, and is rather helpful to those in need. Although it is apparent that he can sometimes act like a blubbering idiot, and can sometimes be blunt or intimidating towards others without meaning to.

To those he is friends with, or is close to, he is a loyal person. He'll do just about anything for those he cares about, and isn't afraid to stand up for others or what he believes in. He likes to think of himself as a courageous person, wanting to help others and stand up to bullies. Though some see him careless or reckless at times when chaos overrides everything else, he at least attempts to be cautious when he can help it. His somewhat careless attitude can lead to some poor outcomes, however, and his rather clumsy and 'big athlete, low test scores in school doesn't help much. He does what he can with what he has, however, and can be considered hard working and willing to work with his flaws and figure out other ways around problems he might have. His strong willed personality does get in the way sometimes, however.

Although idiotic to most, he knows right from wrong and isn't entirely an idiot. He can be considered rather responsible at times, especially around those younger than him (or those that act younger than they should) and often tries to look out for those that he is close to (even if it isn't asked for). He appears to have a soft spot for those younger than himself, as well as small/baby Pokemon, and can be rather protective of those he is close to. His friends and family are important to him - if you probably haven't noticed - and as such, he tends to have them on high priority, and will even put their safety before his.

While it appears as though he is dim witted, it's obvious that he has somewhat of a hero-type vibe to him. While he won't go out of his way to prevent evil, he isn't afraid of standing up to those who do wrong in order to protect friends and family, or if he feels as though someone is doing something they obviously shouldn't. Jason isn't the type of guy to go out and make enemies, nor does he want them, but those that lie, steal, kill or otherwise are not good people intentionally are definitely not people he enjoys hanging around.

HISTORY ;;

The basis of Jason's history stems from his parent's meeting; Andrew and Claire Jackson having met in their younger years, when his father was just a traveling trainer in search of fame of fortune while his mother was aspiring to become a biologist. Their meeting came with Claire needed help in traversing Mount Moon, since he Pokemon were not yet strong enough; Andrew offering to guide her through. While their trip was short and they parted ways soon after, the two kept in touch and often exchanged phone calls and letters - and even Pokemon - when they could. Clair would eventually glide through school easily and officially become a marine biologist at the age of twenty four (her experience out in the field one of the many things that aided her through college when she came of age).

Andrew asked Clair to marry him shortly after her graduation, and the two would move to Vermilion City as so Clair could be closer to her job; there, Andrew took up a construction job to help provide for their soon to be family.

Quietness did not last after their marriage. A small Jason Leigh would be born almost a year after Andrew and Claire were married, and would prove to be a handful. There would e no peace in the happy home for many months after his birth, keeping his parents up at odd hours of the night. He was their bundle of joy regardless, but sometimes, Jason could prove to be a handful growing up. The only times he didn't appear to be a nuisance was during the trips.

From the time he was two until just a few years ago, Claire would often bring her child on approved voyages whenever he didn't have a babysitter. There, he was taught about Pokemon and what many of them were like in their natural habitats; his mother speaking of how one should respect Pokemon and learn to live peacefully with them instead of taking habitats from them. Jason learned the most about Pokemon here, as well as gained his love for water type Pokemon.

This attribute did not wholly go over into his schooling. Jason did enjoy learning, and his parents enrolled him in school as soon as he was able. It was very apparent, however, that Jason's enthusiasm was not enough to keep his grades up. His parents mostly blamed his lack of concentration -- he enjoyed going out and doing rather than learning in a cramped classroom -- in the classroom, the teachers blamed his lack of a drive for school. Whatever the reason, it was obvious that Jason was not as smart as one would have liked.

While he passed for all physical exams and tests -- i.e. battling against the teacher, executing attacks and defenses with loaned Pokemon, etc -- it was obvious more training was needed if Jason wanted to be a decent trainer like he wanted to be. After a few years of traveling his home region with a few of his parent's Pokemon, learning as much as he could via real life scenarios, his parents gave him another option: going to a school called Gray Haven.

It sounded like a good idea to young Jason, and so he packed up with Pokemon given to him by his parents to start off with, and headed off to Gray Haven.
