She likes people, for the most part, but has become more accustomed to the company of Pokemon than humans after so long working to become a trainer and then a warden. History:
Celine grew up in Geosenge and had what she considers to be a normal childhood. She was an only child, but her parents were in a stable and loving relationship and lived around other family. Celine got on well with her cousins and they would often meet with each other and sometimes a neighbor kid or two for whatever activity struck their fancy that day. Occasionally, one of their parents would take them through Route 10, where they could watch the wild Pokemon while hearing tales from Kalos’ history – usually something to do with the ultimate weapon or one of the region’s legendary Pokemon. These trips gave her a great love and respect for Pokemon, and she eventually decided that she wanted to be some kind of trainer someday.
Then came the day the oldest group of kids in the extended family – including Celine – came of age. Each one with any trainer-related aspirations received an Eevee, and they were all given two choices – to attend the academy on Harmonia Island – where all manner of Pokemon were known to appear – or to travel all of Kalos for the local gym challenge. Celine was among those who chose the academy, and she traveled with a few of her cousins to the island. They all ended up in different dorms and the academy gave each of them a second Pokemon to match their dorm’s type. In Celine’s case, she ended up in the Nature Dorm, and her secondary Pokemon was a Treecko.
The next several years were spent taking classes, making and losing friends, training and evolving her main party, catching, trading, and gifting Pokemon, and wandering the various areas of the island in search of more Pokemon to add to her team. She took and completed the academy’s gym challenge, and – upon graduation – moved back home. This would only last a few years, though. She never got over the charm of the island and missed academy life. In her early twenties, she moved back to the island and rented a cheap apartment in Mavro, where she earned money catching Pokemon to be sold in one of the nearby shops until she caught wind of a job opening as a warden for her former dorm. She wasted no time applying, and was recently accepted back into the school, this time as staff. Her main party from her student days and some old favorites have been converted into her gym teams, and the rest of her Pokemon were gifted to friends and family, except for two that were traded for the first members of her personal team. She still has yet to settle back in or accept her first challenge, but she’s confident she can handle things from here. Why not? She’s made it this far.
