He needed something to do. He didn't really mind what it was, so long as it was something to help keep his mind off of the debacles in which he had suffered as of late. These hardships had really put a damper on the boy's mood. There had to be something to keep him occupied, anything to turn his mind away from the bitter disdain that was the feeling of failure.

Often times since these miscues, he's found himself questioning his abilities as a pokemon trainer. Something wasn't right. He must have been doing something wrong all along, but he just couldn't quite put his finger on it. Of course, should he persist on his personal life goals, he'll have to figure this all out eventually. Right now though, there seemed to be a more serious matter at hand.

Word had got out that there were various pokemon performing some rather hazardous misdeeds down at the pier. What do you know, there's something to do to help clear his mind of all the negativity that had been building up on the inside. Upon learning of these misdeeds, Shane wasted no time in volunteering his services to the city once again. In fact, this would be his first time out in the city since...no...let's not think about that right now...

After choosing the friends whom he felt were most fitting the job, the emotionally ailing student set out for the pier. Good Arceus almighty, what a view of the coast! He ought to consider coming out here on a leisure trip, especially with friends. Speaking of friends, the boy couldn't help but wonder what they were all doing right now. Why bother thinking about that? It's not like it really mattered to him at this very moment.

Well, this was indeed a mission that he had signed up for after all. With that in mind, there was sure to be others joining in on the action soon enough. For now, he remained stationary, admiring the view...

[Lilith Sinclaire]

It was about that time for Lilith to take another break. She had been working hard completing various homework, conducting tons of new research projects, breeding loads of Pokemon Eggs, and tutoring fellow classmates on the side. She loved doing all of those things, but she sometimes find herself getting a little too overwhelmed by them all. Therefore, she figured that she would take an overdue break in order to enjoy something else that she liked to do. She had always been of a find of participating in various volunteer opportunities around the academy. So, she was more than excited to hear that the academy was in need of a few volunteers to take care of some Wild Pokemon causing trouble down at the pier. It would give her an opportunity to explore the city a little more as well as provide her with a chance to train her Pokemon and maybe even collect a new one for her team. 

After a few minutes of traveling downtown, Lilith soon found herself nearing the Party Pier. She had never really visit the Party Pier before, therefore she was a bit to excited to see what was so special about the place. Of course, she was sure that it probably had something to do with the title of the location. The Party Pier, it must have been known for its amazing parties or something along those lines. She had never really experienced an academy party before, but she was definitely hoping to attend one before graduation at some point. 

A couple of more minutes had passed and Lilith finally appeared at the Party Pier. There wasn't anything too exciting going on at the moment. Of course, it probably had something to do with the Wild Pokemon causing chaos. So, of course no one in their right mind would want to party right now. Not until those Wild Pokemon had been taken care of at least. It didn't take Lilith long to realize that she wasn't along at the pier. A soft smile formed against her lips as she noticed the familiar face. "Hi Shane! It looks like we're going to be teaming up again, huh?" She smiled as she approached her friend. "How's it going with you?" She asked with another soft smile glued against her face.

Pokemon on Hand: Snivy & Espeon

Kotone had mostly been taking a break from Academy activities. She didn't enjoy attending classes, mostly because she found studying and whatnot too boring, and searching for wild Pokémon had also lost its allure recently. But, with Tae, her Deino, driving her up the wall with his boundless chaotic energy, Kotone decided that it would probably be for the best if she engaged him in some training. So, after checking the mission board, she signed herself up to help out at the Party Pier.

Walking down to the Pier, Kotone kept a careful watch on Tae as he dashed back and forth. Luckily, he seemed to be in a relatively good mood, so there was no worries of him nipping at her ankles or anything like that. But, it's always better safe than sorry. In her arms, she carried a wide-eyed Espurr, who squeaked whenever Tae wandered too close. Lewi was frightened of everything, his own teammates included. Kotone, already much too used to his behavior, patted him on the head and hugged him a little tighter.

As she approached her destination, Kotone grimaced when she saw two figures in the distance. Don't tell me I'm late again, she thought to herself in dismay and broke out into a brisk jog, Tae following close behind. "S-Sorry for being late," she called when she was close enough. Realizing that she had never talked to either student, she decided to add, "My name's Kotone. Nice to meet you guys!"

Pokemon on Hand: Deino, Espurr, and Bulbasaur

Your mission was simple: clean out some wild pokemon from under the pier so that someone could safely and easily make some repairs to it. The pier itself is crowded, but none of the people there pay you any mind. They're much more interested in their own business, and the activities on the party pier. Most of them seem to be here for the amusement park, with most of them funneling into the arcades, rides and of course, the famous ferris wheel.

That's not what you're here for though. What you're here for is under the pier. The area around the pier is rocky rather than sandy, and requires an easy climb down some rocks to get to the shoreline. The rocks there are a lot smaller and smoother, but they still wouldn't feel good on bare feet. The ground is also covered with trash, discarded or lost items, seaweed and broken shells. It's considerably less maintained than the top part of the pier. More than that, the pier looks absolutely massive from this angle. Fortunately, you're only responsible for the parts above the water, which is fairly small compared to the length of the pier.

Speaking of which, you see some potential targets lurking in the darkness of the pier.

Of all the people...

Shane was not at all surprised that the first fellow student to be joining him on this operation would be none other than Lilith, being her typical cheery self. As much as he'd normally enjoy her company, that feeling was actually rather dormant for the moment. Nonetheless, he wouldn't just turn her away outright. There was no way he could find the audacity to offend her in that manner. Instead, he would return a faint smile to his friend. "Hey Lilith...here we are again on a new mission it seems." The last time they were together on a mission, they were able to find the source of the foul odor that plagued the Harmonia Colosseum. They were even able to add new powerful pokemon to their respective arsenals. What would be the result of their combined antics this time around? Only time would tell.

His face flattened when asked how things were going for him. Couldn't she tell just by looking at him? Nothing seemed to be going well for him lately! He'd rather not tell her that though. Or at least not right now. He couldn't afford to have her wasting her time worrying about him. They had a task to complete now. Together. He'd rather concentrate on the matter at hand. His mouth grew slightly open to speak again, but before he muster up any words, the voice of another feminine figure can be heard nearby. The girl joining the party now - one whom Shane hadn't gotten the chance to get acquainted with before - introduced herself. What was that she was carrying? A pokemon? Good Arceus almighty, those eyes! Creepy...

She also had a Deino with her, whom seemed pretty ecstatic to be out. So long as it didn't do anything drastic, he was fine with it. Shane offered a quick wave to acknowledge the girl making her presence known to him and Lilith. "Hi Kotone. I'm Shane, and this is Lilith. Pleasure to be working with you today." he replied. "What say we get straight down to business?" Not bothering to wait for an answer from either of them, Shane proceeded to brave the rocky ladder leading down to the shoreline.

He missed a step...

...causing him to drop hard onto a small bed of pebbles and cracked seashells. He stayed there, layed flat out for a moment, then quickly forced his body back upright. "I'm okay!" He'd be feeling the effects of that later...

The area under the pier was pretty dark indeed. What he could see though was several support beams that had been moderately damaged. At this rate, the pier itself could end up being six feet under very soon. Shane would keep coming. A few short steps later, he wound up stepping on something...whatever it was it felt weird. After close examination, it appeared to be...a pokeball? Did someone drop this here. What if there was a pokemon inside of it? The Bolt student reached for it, only for it to...sprout up from out of nowhere! "Okay...that's definitely not a pokeball..."

Shane's pokedex identified this peculiar creature as a Foongus. Its head was the shape - and color - of a real pokeball. It would be easy for anyone to mistake that. A Grass-and-Poison type. He knew who to call for something like this. Releasing a real pokeball of his own, out came Lito, a Lucario. One of Shane's most coveted prizefighters. "We've got a problem here, I need your help buddy!" Lito simply nodded his head then turned to the alleged problem. Rain or shine - or in this case, light or darkness - he was ready for a fight. "Use Ice Punch on that...plant thing...!" Shane commanded. Lito swiftly delivered a frosty fist to the fungal pokemon, only for it release an unorthodox spore in response, causing the Lucario to shake his head wildly. The fungus stood there, as if it were inviting them to attack again.

"That can't be good...best keep away from it. Alright, let's try an Aura Sphere!" In the palms of his hands now, Lito charged up a brightly lit ball of energy for several seconds then fired it at the plant, putting it down for the count. "Cool. That's one problem out of the way."

Lilith returned a faint smile back to Shane. He definitely still wasn't himself right now. However, she would draw too much attention to right now. The group of students had a mission to complete. Therefore, they didn't have much time to just stand around socialize with each other. However, maybe once the mission was complete the two of them would be able talk with each other a little more. Until then, Lilith would focus on the mission. "Yup! I'm excited to take on another mission with you. I'm sure these will be a breeze for us, too." She smiled at him.

She soon turned her attention away from Shane and focused on the new girl approaching them. Lilith didn't really know Kotone, but she was pretty sure that she may have seen her around in a couple of their classes. She greeted the other female with a bright smile and a friendly wave. "Hi." She greeted her after Shane introduced them both to Kotone. "Ah, no worries. You're not really late." She smiled at her again. 

It was now time for the trio to start their mission. Shane appeared to have stepped up to the plate to play as the role of the leader. Lilith followed after him carefully, making sure not to slip over any of the smooth rocks or debris covering the lower part of the pier. A small gasp quickly escaped from her lips after seeing Shane fall flat onto his back. Luckily, he didn't seem to have been hurt by the fall. She was happy to hear that he was okay. Hopefully, Kontone wouldn't have an issue making it down the ladder without falling down. 

While Shane was chasing after what he believed to have been a Poke Ball, Lilith's attention was soon drawn towards a Croagunk. The poison-frog Pokemon appeared to have been keeping a close eye on the humans. She was once confident that the Groagunk must have been one of the Pokemon causing issues around the pier. "Thaddeus, I need your help!" She called out, releasing her majestic Espeon from his orb. the Croagunk stepped out and prepared himself for battle. "Thaddeus use Psychic!" The elegant Espeon nodded his head before letting out a soothing mew as he started drawing the psychic powers from deep within his body. Within a few seconds, sparkling lavender substances started to materialize around Thaddeus body as the Espeon continued to build up his powers. The Espeon let out another soothing mew before leading forth a strong telekinetic force towards the direction of the Croagunk. The opponent let out a painful cry as the powerful force of energy made contact with his body. Seconds passed and the Croagunk was done for the count. "Amazing as always." Lilith smiled at her Espeon. 

Now that her battle was over with Lilith would turn her attention towards Shane and his Pokemon. Her deep azure eyes widen a bit as she noticed his evolved Lucario. "Lito?" She smiled at the Pokemon. She had hatched the little Riolu from a Pokemon Egg and passed it on to Shane. She was quite impressed that Shane had already evolved him into his final form.


Lilith called out her Espeon.
Thaddeus used Psychic on the Croagunk.
Croagunk fainted.

Pokemon on Hand: Snivy and Espeon

Smiling back at Lilith, Kotone was unperturbed when Shane took charge. She didn't really care who was in command, as long as everyone did their part. In order to climb down the ladder without any distractions, Kotone decided to pull both Tae and Lewi back into their pokéballs for the moment. Waiting patiently for both Shane and Lilith to descend first, Kotone followed behind them, reaching the bottom just in time to see both of the other trainers engaged in their battles. It was enrapturing to watch them and their Pokémon work so well together, and Kotone was so caught up in the moment that she nearly missed the wild Stunky that had been creeping along the outskirts of the battles. Upon catching her eye, the Stunky arched its back with an angry yowl. Determined not to fall behind her fellow students, Kotone retrieved Tae's pokéball and sent him out onto the field. While having just been immersed in a new situation, Tae immediately rose to the challenge, growling back when the Stunky hissed at him aggressively.

"Tae, use Headbutt!" Kotone commanded. There was barely a second after the words fell from her lips before Tae leapt across the open area between him and his opponent. Gathering speed, he lowered his head at the last second and struck and wild Pokémon squarely, knocking it back several steps. And, although it was winded, the Stunky obviously wasn't down for the count. About to tell Tae to continue his assault, Kotone paused when she saw the normally unshakable Deino leap away from the Stunky. While not understanding the situation at first, Kotone immediately caught on when the Stunky was enveloped by a translucent purple gas. Whatever it was, she decided it was better not to enter its proximity. "Finish it off with a Dragon Pulse!" Tae pawed at the ground, charging up the move obediently as the Stunky puffed up its fur and bared its fangs. Rearing back, it pulled up a paw, claws extended, looking to attack once more. But, a blue beam of energy hit it first, and knocked it out.

"Good job, Tae," Kotone praised him as he danced around her feet haughtily. Even though she was glad he had won, Kotone sighed at the arrogant display. Tae's ego honestly didn't need to be inflated any more. Glancing up, she noticed that both Lilith and Shane were done with their battles as well. Walking up to them, Kotone asked, "Should we keep going?"

You all cleared out those pokemon quickly! Now you can get a good look underneath the pier without being attacked or stepping in gunk. It's in pretty bad shape, maybe even worse shape than they thought it was. There are teeth marks on many of the support beams, and some of them even look like they've been melted a bit by poison type pokemon.

One less problem out of the way indeed. Shane and his Lucario were able to make quick work of that fungal pokemon. The others seemed to be holding their own as well. Good for them. Everyone seemed to be in fairly decent shape as well. Again, good for them. They were now able to continue their expedition without hardly breaking a sweat. That odd fungus with a pokeball for a head though. It was no surprise why or how anyone would easily be deceived by it. Whether it can be determined as one of the culprits behind the pier breaking down. It was hard to say at this point.

The girls seemed to have managed to take care of business on their end. The fact that Shane had that spirited fighting pokemon with him, in his evolved form at that, apparently came off as a surprise to Lilith. This forced a smirk from the Bolt student. The hard-nosed brawler offered a swift salute in her direction, acknowledging her presence. After all, she was the one who had practically birthed him. "Yeah, that's him alright. He's trained hard to get to where he is. That's...really all he ever does. Not that I'm complaining. Your Espeon looks pretty good too."

Soon enough, the other girl in the party would rejoin them with her dragon. Just where in the world did she manage to get her hands on a pokemon like that? Shall they keep going? "You're right, we should move on. The pier isn't gonna fix itself after all." the boy answered, then suddenly, a fish shot up from the shoreline and made a beeline straight towards Shane and Lito baring fangs smothered with poison! Fortunately, Lito was able to intercept it.

That was no ordinary fish. Carvahna, a sea-dwelling savage. It popped up again. Now was their chance to strike! "Go Lito! High Jump Kick!" If this was a kickball game, then Lito had just hit a home run. The carnivorous fish was sent flying high through the air, quite possibly across the shoreline. "And...it's outta here!"

Lilith was more than pleased to know that every one had made it out of the battle without any serious issues at all. She was confident in both of her teammates and their abilities to continue their current mission. She gave Lito a friendly wave and smile before turning her attention back towards Shane. "That is good. I know I could trust you raise him into a valiant fighter." She smiled at Shane, nodding her head at him. "Thanks, I've been doing a good amount of training myself, too." She added while turning her attention towards her elegant Espeon, who was know sitting beside her. 

She nodded her head at Kotone's question regarding the trio moving forth with their mission again. Lilith finally closely behind Shane, her piercing blue eyes scanning over the pier. "This place is actually in worst shape than I imagined that it would be." She stated in a soft voice, not to anyone in particular. Her attention was shown drawn away from her surroundings after warning shot of water jetted towards her. She turn her attention towards the shoreline and noticed a Qwilfish staring at Thaddeus with its body inflated in hopes of intimidating the Espeon.

"Thaddeus use Psychic!" The Espeon let out another soothing mew before sending forth another powerful blast of telekinetic energy from his body. The attack was super-effect and it hit the opponent with great force. The psychic attack itself was too much for the Qwilfish to handle and it ended up fainting shortly after the attack made contact with its body.

Thaddeus used Psychic.

(Kotone has notified me that she is withdrawing from the mission. We shall now continue)

The Gulpin seeing that it's too friends were beat slithered off. The area seemed clear so that someone could come down and clean up the mess and do some repairs but you couldn't shake the feeling that the little ones that you faced before were nothing and that lurking just under the waterline something a little more dangerous was there.

A hazmat and construction crew combo would soon show up and start doing some cleaning and repairs on the pier but then rumbling was heard as the pier shook then two toxic geysers shot out of the water spraying toxic sludge at the ground near where the work was being done fortunately no one was injured. However the crews were now running for their lives as two vicious pokemon came out of the sea to defend their territory.

It seemed that things were starting to return to order under the pier. The problematic pokemon were swiftly being disposed of by the party that had been spontaneously put together. Soon enough, someone would come along and immediately commence repairs on the support beams. Or so the boy would hope anyway. Something was wrong with this picture. How come there were still no construction workers in sight!? There was certainly something off with all of this. But what...? The young trainer would soon found out...right now...

Two new pokemon emerged from the waters, scaring off what were likely to be the ones in charge of the repairs. Unfortunately, that would have to wait. At least for a little while longer. Both pokemon looked tough enough. One bore tentacles and the other was dark in color, shaped like rotted seaweed. The tentacle pokemon would attempt to strike first, but Lito was having none of that.

"Wait, Lito!" Shane called to his eagerly anxious hard-nosed fighter. "You've done enough, and we appreciate it." The battle-tested Lucario looked over to his partner, then the other allies, then back to his trainer. Offering another salute to them, he quietly stepped to the side. If it wasn't clear that Shane's target was the aquatic tentacle bearer, it certainly would be clear now. "Come on, Wally!" He tossed another pokeball and out came the ecstatic Quilladin.

The Tentacruel would indeed strike first by spraying a massive wave of pressurized water at the spiny pokemon. "It's cool, just shake it off." And so he did. "Use Seed Bomb on that Tentacruel!" An explosive array of seebs were fired. The tentacle bearer didn't seem to be too fond of that manuever, and countered with a wave of nasty sludge. "You got this, Wally! Get in there and use Wood Hammer!" Wally's arm glowed a bright shade of green as he rushed to 'bring the hammer down' on the Tentacruel, putting it down for good. Shane flung an empty pokeball at it for good measure. The formidable water-and-poison-type was now in possession.

"One problem solved."

Lilith piercing blue eyes widen as she noticed the new Pokemon emerging from the sea. The Tentacruel and Dragalge definitely appeared a lot stronger than the previous Pokemon that the students had manage to take out a couple of minutes ago. Lilith placed her index finger against her chin as she started to debate on which of her Pokemon would stand a better chance against the Poison/Dragon-type Pokemon. She had decided to only bring two Pokemon along with her. Jade wouldn't stand too much of a change against a Poison-type Pokemon. Therefore, it would be better to use her Espeon in battle again. Lilith gave her Espeon a soft smile and quick head nod, letting him now that he would be taking place in the upcoming fight. Thaddeus let out a soft mew before leaping gracefully in front of his trainer. 

The Dragalge quickly locked eyes with her opponent as she prepared to make the first move. "Thaddeus, Psychic!" She commanded in a calm tone. The Espeon didn't hesitate to release a powerful blast of psychic energy towards the opponent. The opponent was a lot slower than Thaddeus, which meant that Thaddeus' attack would hit its mark before the opponent even sends out her first move. The Dragalge let out painful cry as the super effective move made contact to her poisonous body. However, once the attack had faded, she fired a powerful Hydro Pump towards the Espeon. Luckily, the attack didn't cause too much damage to Thaddeus' slender body. 

"Finish it off!" Lilith commanded. Thaddeus attacked the Dragalge with another psychic attack, finishing off the his opponent and leaving him floating the surface with swirls in his eyes. Lilith took out an empty Poke Ball and tossed it effortlessly at the Dragalge.

Dragalge was defeated.
Dragalge was captured.

Nice work that will teach those poison types to cause trouble. The main reason we haven't been able to get any work done on this pier is because those poison types were blocking any attempts. Thankfully we won't have to resort to other measures to clear these pokemon out. Don't know why they had to pick the pier to claim as their territory but no matter with some cleanup and some reinforcement of the pier. We shouldn't have any other problems for the time being. Great Job, mission complete
