and i'm not sleeping now
the dark is too hard to beat
and i'm not keeping now
the strength i need to push me

The swell of the ocean under the pier was intense; the old, wooden frame creaking as the ocean moved to and fro aomngst the sand and sea life ar below. Wingull and Peliper squawked high above, getting ready to turn in for the evening as the sun sent a bright cascade of orange and pink into the opposing horizon. A few Seel and Dewgong flopped around on the nearby beaches, watching the humans pass by with interest.
It was quite the little get away, Jason mused as he weaved in between crowds of people locking to one ride and the next. The young teenager couldn't really understand the utter fascination some people had for carnivals and fairs -- but then again, his idea o a fun day would be going to the aquarium and then sitting on the beach after dinner; so he wasn't really the one to talk.
"Froa - key!" croaked the water type on his shoulder -- partly tugging on the boy's hair as he stood up more on his shoulder to get a better view.
"Hey, easy on the hair! I'm going as fast as I can," Jason scorned, head tilting away as he attempted to keep a hold of the drink and chili fries in his hands.
"Fro," croaked the Froakie as he glared down at his trainer for a long moment, before squatting back down again; holding the cotton candy tighter as Jason attempted to maneuver through a crowd of people. No food was dropped, luckily.
"You'd think they'd have more places to sit," the brunette muttered as he swiveled around an elderly couple -- and quickened his pace as he saw an empty picnic table (well, pseudo empty; some trash had been let behind from the previous occupants).
Jason was quick to sit down in one o the seats, Froakie jumping off o his trainer's shoulder to eat the cotton candy in mild peace.
He defiantly wasn't a crowd-person, Jason admitted to himself as he watched the people passed. He liked being outdoors, where he didn't feel trapped and congested. But he had never been to a carnival or fair of any sort, having chosen to join his mother on expeditions rather than wanting to go to a fair. But hearing that one was so close to where he was saying -- well, he didn't want to pass up the opportunity.
But the only thing that didn't seem to loose interest after some time, however, seemed to be the food. He was sure that this would be the last time he would come here, he thought to himself aimlessly as he zoned out, unless he were invited by friends.
