This city was sure something. There was definitely a lot of shops, Karin noticed. And a lot of restaurants. Maybe she should've explored a different part of the city. It reminded her somewhat of Lumiose City though, her previous home. While Lumiose had rows of shops and restaurants similar to Mavro, she found no comfort in the latter. It wasn't like she was completely comfortable in Lumiose either, but her family was there which made it somewhat home. Karin huffed; it wouldn't do to think about that or them right now.

Karin wished Basil could walk besides her, like he always did, but she was afraid he would get lost. The curious thing had the tendency to wander into places he shouldn't be; the Skiddo would probably get kidnapped or something. So, Basil remained safely inside his pokeball. Karin sighed. The shops started blurring into each other, but stepping into a restaurant sounded appealing. It was lunchtime after all.

She chose a restaurant at random, praying it would be a good one. She stepped into it, and was immediately assaulted by the smell of something delicious. It wasn't terribly crowded, but there was quite a few people, mainly families and couples. And pokemon joined them. It seemed they allowed pokemon to dine with them. Her random decision was looking great already. 

Karin called her three pokemon out. Basil, the Skiddo; Zoe, the Spritzee; and Solis, the Shellos. Basil stayed close to Karin, preferring to rub against her leg. Zoe perched on top of Karin's shoulder, examining the restaurant and finding it to be suitable. Karin chose to hold Solis instead of giving him free reign. He was simply too aggressive; he'd probably start a fight with another pokemon, and that was just too much for Karin to handle. She managed to ignore his sliminess and keep him still in her arms. His grumpy face won't sway her. 

She tapped her foot eagerly as they waited to be seated.

[Makai Kalus]

Makai had only just discovered that he had tons of free time. Previously, he'd assumed that someone would've given him a timetable, but apparently not. As he passed the different stores on the street, he turned to one restaurant to see Karin - s girl he'd met before - waiting to be seated. He sent out his three pokemon - Lana - a Raltz, Taro - an Aron and Tyrant - a Tyrunt. He only hoped that they'd behave themselves inside the restaurant. He wasn't worried about Lana and Taro, but he'd seen that Tyrant could be quite crafty when it came to food...

As he entered the restaurant with Lana sticking close to him Aron on his shoulder and Tyrant looking around eagerly for something to eat he accidentally bumped into Karin. He had known she was there, but completely forgot where. He cursed himself for that. "Uh, hey there Karin." He'd only met the girl once, but he was surprisingly good with names. He looked at the Shellos in her arms and wondered if she'd been out to catch it - he didn't hear about it in her description of her pokemon so he assumed it was a newbie. After bumping into her, he was trying not to make eye contract as bumping into someone when you knew they were there us an annoying thing to do.

Solis squirmed, eager to leave his trainer's arms. "Will you stop? You're making a mess." Karin scolded the Shellos, but it did nothing to halt his wiggles. He was making her arms very slimy. Karin huffed and puffed, already frustrated by his persistence to be let go. It wasn't going to happen and he should just accept his fate. When someone bumped into her, she almost let Solis fall out of her arms, but she was able to keep a tight hold on him. Doesn't anyone pay attention these days? she thought. Never mind that she wasn't one to talk; she tripped over and ran into things all the time. She turned around, ready to yell angrily in someone's face.

"Hey! Watch where you're--" Her anger melted away when she saw who it was. "Oh, Kai! Nice meeting you here. Are you here for lunch too? Well, duh -- of course you would be, it's a restaurant! You should eat with us!" Karin caught sight of his pokemon, as did her Shellos, who was ready to fight his pokemon. Her Spritzee paid them no mind while her Skiddo was greeting them happily. "Are those your pokemon? They're so cute, just like you! Especially your Ralts, I always -- Hey, hey, stop!" The burning desire to enter combat filled Solis and he squirmed with more determination than ever. "So, this is Solis!" She said, referring to the Shellos in her arms, who glared at Makai and his pokemon with a blazing passion. "I caught him at the beach! And, uh, he's very energetic!" Which was one way of putting it.

Makai resisted the urge to laugh when Karin started talking to him. She kinda of babbled quite a bit but that was fine with him. Everyone's different after all. "Yeah. I was hungry and I finally realized I have a free period." Lana happily greeted her Skiddo while Taro was busy drooling over the smells coming from the kitchen to pay any attention to the other pokemon. Tyrant - on the other hand - was glaring just as wildly at the Shellos since it seemed to be threatening it. Makai still wasn't used to being called 'cute' and he wasn't sure how to respond. Even if it was just a fleeting comment. "Well, A pokemon needs some spunk I suppose..."

Makai saw an empty table and immediately grabbed Karin and ran towards it. "Don't want someone else to take it!"

"I don't know if spunk is the right word -- w-wait a minute!"

Dragged by Makai over to an empty table, Karin huffed and looked around, unsure if this was allowed. "I think we're supposed to be seated by a waiter or something." It didn't matter now, she guessed. They were already here. It was a booth table, so Karin scooted into the corner on one side followed by her pokemon. Basil was happy to sit on the bench with Zoe perched on his horns. Solis tired himself out; there was only so much wiggling he could do. It was great for Karin, since there would be less slime buildup on her arms. He stopped glaring at Makai's pokemon and instead stared dejectedly at the wall. Karin tapped her fingertips impatiently on the table, waiting for a waiter to bring them menus. 

"So, what have you been up to?" Karin asked. "I've never been here before -- well, I've never been to Mavro City either, so I wouldn't even know. What kind of food do you think they serve? Lumiose City food tends to be fancy and decorated, I guess? The servers also battle you between meals, but I don't think they do that here. At least I hope not, because I don't feel like battling anyone today."

"Skiddo!" Basil added.

"I know, right?" Karin said, pretending to understand the Skiddo. "If the food's good, we'll have to come here again. Well, actually, there is quite a few people here; so, the food must be good. I don't think there's many restaurants that let pokemon eat too, unless it's like the places in Lumiose City where you battle. What do you think, Kai?"

He shrugged at her statement. It didn't really bother Kai whether they were seated or not - they were there now. He sat in the corner - opposite to Karin and his pokemon piled in after him. Lana sat closest, then Tyrant and Taro was trying to eat the table. Well, until Kai picked him up. "No Taro, don't eat the table! We kinda need that table."

He shook his head. "I've never been here either. I'd love it if they served stuff like that from the Hoenn region. Y'know, that food court that they built. That looked pretty snazzy." He was from the Kanto region, but Kai got around. He'd been to the food court once and thoroughly enjoyed the time. He began to wonder if Karin ever traveled. "Have you every left your home region? I mean, besides coming here?" He scratched his head and looked away since that might've been a personal question and at this stage he didn't really wanna pry.

"Well, if people come back then the food must not poison anyone, and that counts as good food in my book!" He wasn't really a picky eater, so anything that doesn't poison him is good enough. "I recon that the pokemon are allowed to eat here, given how close the school is. I mean, that makes sense, yeah?"
