Today was a wondrous day, a day of great tidings. It was a momentous occasion that added something of a kick to a certain young lady's step as she made her way to a certain facility. It was not a simple occasion in which she got something for nothing- though those occasions were nice, as well- but an occasion in which she herself earned something for herself. Not only was it a gift, of sorts, but it was something of a trophy, as well as a tool. Rather, not it, but “they”. Sure, she had some assistance getting the groundwork done, but there was nothing wrong with that- it was an agreeable and otherwise professional arrangement that worked out for the mutual benefit of herself and her partner.
Of course, one might wonder just what the hell the hub-bub was about.
Well, that's simple. Sophia managed to achieve not only the second, but the third major milestone for a student interested in breeding. “Hatch ten eggs”, the second milestone, was simple enough- something anybody could do with enough time, provided they had a singular couple that was compatible. “Hatch the eggs of ten different species”, the third milestone, however, was a bit more complex. It required a bit of branching out, time to acquire resources, and a great deal of luck. In Sophia's case, though? She had a wonderful bit of luck by having a roommate that was fairly agreeable and easy to work with. As a result, what would have taken her well over a month, maybe two or three, took her only a few weeks.
She really would need to thank Seraphina properly for that later, even if it was a mutually beneficial exchange.
After heading up to the desk to verify the batch of eight eggs and their newborn lives, Sophia filled out all the necessary paperwork and was presented not just one, but two, Breeder Emblems. The second gave her access to equipment that would allow her to control the species of a couple's egg. She didn't understand yet how that worked, but she'd have plenty of time to figure it out, she was certain. As for the third emblem, it allowed her access to even more equipment. In this case, to determine the ability of the new Pokemon. Useful things all around, she felt.
Perhaps it was just the moment, but she felt a little lightheaded. After “cashing in” on her rewards, she made her way over to the one of the benches in the reception area of the Breeding Center and plopped her rear right on top. She sighed. It was a good sigh, though, and her expression said it loud and clear. Her mind was racing. She wasn't the sort to show off, so that initial giddiness needed to wear off before she went anywhere. She relaxed and tried to let that stupid smile melt from her face. She was just in a really good mood. And the future was already partially laid out for her. She and Seraphina had a few more solid pairings to make, and that was assuming neither of them found other things. The fourth emblem? It was probably much sooner than she thought.
The maiden relaxed. It was probably easier for her than it should have been. Still, with a few small “changes” made to the uniform thanks to her sewing skills, it was looser and lent itself well to lounging and whatnot. Few people could tell the differences without looking close, though. Over that silver uniform, though, was a lightweight scarlet jacket, left open closer to the top. Thin leather gloves kept her fingers nice, warm, and active. Between her Mary Janes and the thigh-high stockings, her legs were kept mostly hidden. All in all, she looked like a reserved young lady. An exceedingly happy, reserved young lady.
”So much to do when I return.” She quietly hummed to herself.
