[Naveta Lejori]

The worst of the northern part of the island was out of the way at least.  Naveta was glad that at least now the mountain she was going to have to climb was a solid one, instead of the  mountains of sand in the dunes.  It would take a bit longer to go around the dunes rather than through them to get to Mount Magmadyne, but it was worth it to avoid that place.  Naveta was no stranger to climbing mountains or other dangerous terrain, so traversing this mountain didn't even phase her at all.  She didn't even find it particularly difficult.  If anything, this trip felt easier just because it wasn't sand anymore.

This place was interesting because this was the volcano that supposedly created the island in the first place.  The island was somewhat strangely shaped for a volcanic island, but otherwise she could believe it.  Determining exactly what type of volcano it was would require more work than she was going to do now, and trying to see if it was actually extinct instead of just dormant would require tools she did not have and was unlikely to get.  The amount of heat generated here suggested there was probably still some magma flow in the volcano, it was just remaining underground.  The fact that there was an ancient cave system on this mountain complicated some things, but she supposed it wasn't that unusual in the end.  It would be something she'd have to see for herself later.  For now, she just wanted to examine some of the patterns and mineral types along the mountain itself.

[Naveta Lejori]

A little further up the mountain, she caught sight of a small lizard pokemon looking for something in the rocks.  Against the dark surface of the mountain, it stood out like a sore thumb.  It was pretty intent in its search and didn't seem to notice her at all, even though she wasn't exactly camouflaged that well herself.  Good, this meant that it would never see her coming, or her pokemon as the case may be.  She quietly released her Zorua from her pokeball, and as usual, Cirque just flopped on the ground and continued to try to sleep.  Naveta pulled out a small treat and nudged her with the same hand.  Cirque sniffed at the air for a moment before opening one eye and nibbling on the treat.  The Zorua let out a small sigh, and got up considering that sufficient payment for her services.

"Alright, good.  Just use Night Daze."

Cirque began gathering darkness in her mouth until she created a ball about the size of her head, and then launched it at the wild pokemon.  Surprised and unable to see, the charmander started flailing its arms right in front of it, presumably trying to attack whatever attacked it.  Naveta could already tell that this one was going to be a bundle of joy, but that certainly wasn't about to stop her form catching it.  She tossed a pokeball at it, and after a bit of wiggling she heard a click and went to retrieve the ball.  Cirque just went back to napping, satisfied with her work.
