[Naveta Lejori]

Not far from the field of sunflowers was a rather large forest.  The trees were leafy, not unexpected for this part of the world given it was warm pretty much year round.  The trees here probably didn't go through the seasonal changes they did where she grew up.  Much like the sunflower field, there was a very sudden drop in plant life near the volcano.  For whatever reason, it seemed like either the lava from the last eruption just didn't flow very far, or they were intentionally keeping the vegetation on the volcano low to appeal more to certain types of pokemon.  She couldn't say which was more likely right now, but she was having a hard time believing all this was natural.

The forest itself seemed to be built around one ancient tree.  One that she figured was likely dead or dying given they were using it for a dorm.  It was such a waste to do something like that to such a lovely tree.  Fortunately, it meant she could take a more invasive sample fairly guilt free since it wouldn't be destroying the old growth anymore than it already had been.  Naveta just pulled a bit of the bark of the edge and took a core sample.  She took a core sample from a few other trees of varying sizes in varying areas.  They would be sure to give her more insight into the nature of this forest.

[Naveta Lejori]

There was little Naveta hated more than feeling like she was being watched.  While it was annoying even before she left home, after it was generally a sign of actual danger.  It meant someone was spying on her, or that someone was following her.  For awhile, she pretended to not notice, as to not tip the perpetrator off, while she tried to get into position where she could look around.  The perp ended up being rather illusive though, as she didn't see any signs of anything unusual.  There was no way she could keep this act up though.  Her body was stiff, her movements changed significantly since noticing she was being watched and she was clearly on edge.  It seemed strange that anyone would want anything to do with her now.  She hadn't spent that much time on the island yet, and she hadn't even done anything particularly annoying or nefarious since coming here.  A steady income meant she could afford to play it safe.  Why would anyone be following her.  Eventually, she looked up right in the right place and her expression went flat.

"Well that explains a lot."

Well, that was sufficiently embarrassing to make her just want to crawl under a rock for awhile.  She rubbed the bridge of her nose, debating whether or not she wanted to capture this pokemon and preserve the memory of her stupidity.  With a sigh, she released Strato once more to take it down, it would just be too much of a waste to let it go.  Rayleigh would likely have made short work of the wild pokemon, but he was already strong.  He didn't need any action, unlike Strato here who still got ridiculously excited every time it was time to fight.  He was such a weird creature.

"Strato, use earthquake to get it out of the tree."

Almost giddy looking, Strato began stomping around, causing the ground to shake.  The patrat held on admirably for a time, but eventually face planted into the ground.  It was able to get up rather quickly, and started racing towards Strato with its mouth wide open.  Facing a tyrunt like this in a biting battle?  Naveta had to hold back a chuckle, it was quite a funny thought.

"Catch it in your teeth."

Strato opened his mouth wide, and bit right into the side of the wild pokemon, who also bit right into Strato's side.  It wasn't able to hold on like Strato was, because after a moment, it was struggling inside a pokeball, unable to escape.  Naveta grabbed the ball of the ground and sighed.  That unnerved by a chipmunk of all things?  How embarrassing...
