Why the hell are all the nice Pokemon in really tall, high mountains? Or better question - why is he looking for his first Pokemon in such places? Even if it was a lot cooler than the volcano place, it was still very, very tiring to climb up Mount Brave, and he wasn't even brave! Probably foolish, or stupid, he thought to himself in amusement, but certainly not brave. Maybe. Well, he supposed he could be brave if the situation called for it, and brave can be subjective. There is a fine line between bravery and recklessness after all, a line that he honestly wasn't sure where it was marked.

Anyway, it seemed like this place was full of Flying type Pokemon that were making their nests around here. Honestly, he didn't really want to mess with those Pokemon. If they were mothers, then they were going to be all the more terrifying to fight, considering that they were protecting their young and all. He just kind of wanted to fight a Pokemon that had suddenly decided to land on the road or something so that he wouldn't have to move around too much. He was exhausted. So exhausted, in fact, that he decided to sit down on one of the larger spaces of the pathway to take a break. A few other trainers had passed him along the way, but right now there wasn't anyone around. Gogo wasn't on his shoulder but rather walking alongside him. A while ago the two of them had gotten to a bit of an argument since Luu felt like his Turtwig was getting too heavy to carry on his shoulder, but the little turtle had retorted with cries and some bites. In the end though, the trainer won, but the Turtwig seemed fine in continuing to climb up the mountain.

A sudden screeching noise was the reason that Luu almost jumped out of his skin. He quickly looked around to find the source of that noise, only to see a strange chick-like Pokemon walk towards him. He had never seen this Pokemon before, and so tries to get his PokeDex to identify it. As he pulled the little machine out of his bag, Gogo had approached the new Pokemon and seemed to ask what was wrong. At least that was what it sounded like to Luu, he was too busy trying to get the PokeDex to work. Finally after a few tries it seemed to be working properly, and a voice began speaking, "Vullaby, the Diapered Pokémon. Vullaby's small wings keep it from flying. It tends to chase Pokémon weaker than itself."

He had glanced back at the Vullaby, who honestly looked more of lost than threatened. Maybe it had fallen out of his nest? Or maybe it tried to wander around and then walked too far from its mom? Whatever the case, it was here now, though Luu wasn't sure if he should try to find the mom or catch it, "Hey, Gogo, does it want to find its way back home?" he asked. The Turtwig was about to repeat the question, but the Vullaby quickly shook its head. Huh, so it actually ran away from home? "Well, uh, would you like to come with us then?" this time the little chick Pokemon looked a bit unsure, but soon let out a small cry that seemed like it was fine with it. Gogo seemed rather happy to have gained a new friend without having to battle too, "Great! Now you just need to get into this Poke Ball and we can finally get off this mountain."
