[Ishikura Daiki]

Daiki figured that he'd really need more Pokemon in his team considering that he just had two Dragon Types that were following him. He couldn't really bring out his other Pokemon since they were meant to be stationed at the gym. He sighed at the thought, feeling nostalgic of his adventures with his older Pokemon. Well, that was why he needed to build another team, he supposed, and this time with completely new Pokemon that he had never trained before.

Wedelia was thoroughly fascinated with the place, and as soon as either of his two heads sniffed a molten rock, he would immediately go to it and start gnawing on it. Thankfully these rocks had already cooled off from being exposed to the open air, but who knew what things he could eat while doing that, and so Daiki would often have to stop in his tracks to get Wedelia to stop biting. Unfortunately this often took a lot longer to resolve since it would become some sort of tug of war, with Wedelia always winning at first, but eventually Daiki's exasperated begging would get him to drop it.

He hadn't climbed that high up and didn't really plan on going much higher. There were still some plants around here, probably prospering from the volcano's ashes that had fertilized the soil well. Surely there must be Pokemon living here somewhere...

At some point in his search, Daiki had heard voices, and so he decided to check it out. The source happened to be two kids (perhaps students? They were not wearing uniforms so he couldn't tell) who were having a Pokemon battle - or well, seemed to be done with it. One of the kids had an unusual Pokemon in his hands, Daiki noticed, for he had hardly seen a Nosepass in his travels. Nevertheless he has encountered one or two of them from Hiker individuals; they weren't exactly popular with much else.

"You!" the Warden almost jumped out of his skin as the kid suddenly pointed at him, "Let's battle! One on one with my Nosepass!" the rock Pokemon had made a cry while raising its arms. Admittedly he would rather refuse since he was looking for Wild Pokemon, not trainers, but he supposed it wouldn't really take long anyway, "Alright then," he responded as he glanced at his Sliggoo, who was following his trail quietly the whole time, "Poppy? Can I ask for you to battle?" the timid Pokemon made a small cry, as if unsure, but then nodded and moved in front of Daiki.

"Alright! Nosepass, use Stone Edge!" the Pokemon obeyed, and then sharp rocks suddenly surrounded it before being launched at Poppy. Daiki quickly followed up, "Poppy, Protect!" the Sliggoo then surrounded itself with a spherical shield, stopping the projectiles cold, "Now use Rain Dance!" the Sliggoo let out a cry before clouds gathered in their battlefield and caused rain, which honestly annoyed the kid but didn't seem to affect Nosepass. Honestly Daiki would've wanted not to get wet, but if he wanted to assure victory, then this was going to be a small price to pay.

"Ugh, thanks for getting me wet, loser. Nosepass, use Rock Blast!" more stones were hurled at Sliggoo, but this time instead of using Protect Daiki told her to dodge. She wasn't able to evade all, but she was able to shrug off the attack, "Use Water Pulse! she then shot out waves of water at the opponent, and it was a direct hit. Nosepass staggered back, clearly worn out from the super effective hit plus the fact that rain made it even stronger, but it wasn't done yet. The kid called out an even riskier move: Rock Slide, and since they were on a dormant volcano, that couldn't be good. The rocks that were broken a while ago and bigger boulders nearby were suddenly glowing and raised in the air before being released on Poppy. He quickly called for her to use Protect, but when the stones fell, he couldn't tell if she managed to do it in time.

Worried, he ran towards the rock pile and started to dig, but the kid was only cheering that he had won. Nosepass still looked stoic, but had went to the rock pile and started to help digging too, "Hey, what are you doing? You should come back here so that we can battle more trainers!" the rock Pokemon made a weird cry, but it seemed that it didn't want to do that. Soon after, they touched the forcefield and Daiki breathed a sigh of relief - Poppy had managed to use the move in time, "Ugh, well fine. Nosepass, use Rock Blast again!" - the Pokemon had hesitated, and as much as Daiki appreciated the help, this wasn't going to stop until he defeated his opponent, "Poppy, Ice Beam!

The battle had ended, and frankly the kid was so angry that his Pokemon 'betrayed' him that he released him right off the bat, leaving the Nosepass with Daiki. The Warden couldn't help but feel bad for it and so offered for it to join them, to which it wholeheartedly agreed (at least, Daiki would like to believe in that. It's hard to tell with its face hardly changing).
