As much as Serena wanted to explore everywhere on the island, she was just feeling tired today and simply wasn't feeling up to doing something new.  It was days like this that she just liked to wander around in the forest.  She thought about bringing her bow and maybe finding a duck or two, but decided against it in the end.  She didn't really feel like doing much of anything, and while that feeling made her feel terrible, she knew that trying to force herself to do too much would just make her feel even worse.  She was already caught up on school work and social obligations, so she decided to allow herself to indulge in some relaxation time.  A simple walk with her Growlithe Natalia should make her feel a little bit less stressed out.

Upon closer inspection, one of the trees appeared to be moving?  Not like blowing in the wind moving, but like walking on two legs moving.  It was hard to tell at first, but that was exactly what was happening.  The area she lived in didn't have trees or pokemon like that, but this was one she recognized.  One of her neighbors had one and would often use it to fly into town for business.  Thus, this was one she actually knew something about.  It was weak to ice, really weak to ice, so much so that she was a little afraid to use it.  However, this pokemon was at least reasonably hearty and ice fang, the only ice attack she had at her disposal right now, wasn't THAT strong.  It should be fine...right?

Serena let Noelle out of her Pokeball and ordered Natalia to stand back.  The tropius turned towards them, clearly unamused that someone was about to interrupt its lunch.  It sent some sharp leaves flying at them, but in the end it wasn't anything Noelle couldn't handle.  With that, the Aerodactyl was able to make its move.  Serena was a still a little nervous because she didn't want to hurt it too badly, but it was obvious she had to beat it down a little if she wanted to catch it!

"Noelle, use ice fang please."

It had some amount of confidence behind it, but it was still said quietly and more like a statement than a command.  Fortunately, Noelle was more than happy to comply due to her own love of battling.  As expected, the attack hurt it a lot, but not quite enough to bring it down.  With that, Serena threw a ball to capture it, and after a few shakes, it clicked and the pokemon was hers.
