Serena could tell that Lithra didn't quite understand what she was talking about. She didn't mind though, the topic was really complicated and she wasn't good at explaining anything in the first place, and that only got worse the more nervous about talking about it she got. Given her history with the subject, it basically meant she'd start talking complete gibberish every time the topic came up. Really, she was happy the topic shifted onto something else.
"It's just so big! And there's so much stuff, and so many people...I don't know how people keep track of it all sometimes. Oh um, yeah I went to the business district with my room mate, and we looked at the mall and stuff, and um...it was also really big! Where I lived there was around half a dozen stores, but this mall had an entire store dedicated to soap! Soap of all things! I-I mean, how do they come up with enough ideas for soap to stock a store that big? It's so weird! I ended up going down town to get some cooking supplies too, and it's pretty much the same way. I don't know how people can make choices about what to get in these circumstances..."
Serena just nodded at Lithra's worry about her clothes. It seemed like she had similar experiences to her own with her hobbies. Hopefully they weren't quite as bad since she was still doing it and she was able to talk about it without her tongue getting tied too badly.
"I wonder how. Were they making stuff up and just happened to be right?" Serena tilted her head. "Um...Fortunately, most of the people I've seen here dress pretty um...simply and um, practical. I doubt most of them are overly um, fancy.
"Oh, the area around the lava dorm is really nice um...except maybe the dunes. They're just a lo of sand and not much else. The areas just south of the dorm just remind me more of home I guess. And um...the Garden of the Sun just has a particular atmosphere...um...I can't really describe it. The forest and the sunflower garden aren't too far away from the lava dorm, so I can at least get there pretty easily."
