For some reason, Luu found himself dreaming. And since he was no lucid dreamer, whatever transpired, no matter how ridiculous, made sense to him. It was a hodgepodge of memories and strange fantasies, some being too odd to comprehend nor explain, but when his consciousness stirred, all traces of it faded away. His mind was still very muddled though, and there was a dull pain and exhaustion that was plaguing him.

The first thing he realized that he was on a bed, and he knew this wasn't right. He had no recollection of falling asleep peacefully in the dorm - or at least, he knew that wasn't the last memory he had before he fell unconscious. More thoughts then appeared: what happened? Where am I? Why do I feel like I'm starting to get a splitting headache? He let out a small groan, unaware that there could've been anyone else in the room with him. His eyes were still closed, but it didn't take long before they slowly opened. The light was blinding and it made him want to curl up under the thin blanket on top of him, but his body was too fatigued to move. He just laid there, motionless for a moment.

The ceiling was white. To the very far edges of his vision, there was a window. A large window. A window that definitely didn't look like the one in his room. Suddenly the tiredness he was feeling was replaced with restlessness, and he sat up, only to make the headache more strongly felt. This room...he hadn't been here before, but it looked like...

"An infirmary..?" he had only seen them on TV - it was a popular scene in many stories that used the school setting. And now, he found himself in one. He felt rather weird about the situation, especially because how he got here was still terribly hazy.

And it turned out that he wasn't alone either.

This morning started out like any other morning.  Serena woke up at the crack of dawn, quietly got dressed, brushed her hair and teeth and gathered up any of her belongings, all while making sure she didn't disturb her roommate, who always got up much later than she did.  Today, she was determined to explore some of the areas around her dorm.  Even though she had been living there for awhile now, she hadn't actually walked through most of the places around it.  It was a little embarrassing lately.  She wanted to learn more about the world and expand her horizons, but she didn't even know what was near her own back door?

She started with Mount Magmadyne.  Even though she had been there before, she hadn't been all the way to the top, and she had only explored one side of it.  Further, she hadn't even touched the cave system there.  From there, she'd take a trip through the sand dunes, and then she'd head back to the academy grounds for lunch.  It was a great plan.  Natalia seemed to be enjoying it as well, but she always seemed to enjoy the really warm  places on Harmonia.  However, their trip through the dunes was interrupted when Serena saw something odd on one of the smaller sand dunes near the mountain.  She wasn't quite sure what it was at first, but when she went to investigate she found that it was a person just laying there.  She was at least able to give him some basic first aid once she realized why he was just laying there, but he probably needed more than that.  Abandoning her idea to explore the dunes for now, she quickly rushed towards the academy grounds, carrying the collapsed boy princess style all the way there.

The infirmary was quiet today.  That was good timing she supposed.  The nurse said that he would be fine, but Serena insisted on waiting until he got up anyway.  Even though she didn't know this person, she couldn't help but worry.  What was he doing there anyway?  Was he just unprepared?  Serena grabbed a chair a reasonable distance away so that she wouldn't smother him, or surprise him too badly when he finally did woke up.  The last thing he needed was someone hovering over him while he was trying to recover.  She did get a glass of water for him though and set it on the small table next to the infirmary bed.  Occasionally she got up to refill it with ice to keep it cold, but that was about it.  Sadly, waiting was rather boring, so she just occupied herself with her growlithe, Natalia.

When  he started stirring, Serena perked up.  She still stayed in the chair a fair distance away so that she wouldn't bother him too much, but she was still within a conversational range that shouldn't disturb any other patients.

"U-Um...Are you okay?  Um...I um, found you in the Blazed Dunes, and um...well you um, didn't look so good, s-so I figured I should um, bring you here," she paused for a moment.  "Um, there's some water on the table too if you're thirsty..."

He was at first confused by an unfamiliar voice, but when he shifted his view there was indeed someone else with him. His mind was still slow on the uptake, so it took him a while to register what she was saying. Blazed Dunes? Didn't look so good? Oh wait, he had tried going there today, didn't he? And it was even hotter somehow than the docile volcano, so he assumed that he had collapsed along the way. Thank Arceus there was someone willing to help him out.

"Oh, uh, thanks..." the awkwardness the girl showed only made him feel rather awkward as well, but he reached out for the glass of water and drank. Man, he was pretty sure it was the fact that he was thirsty rather than the actual water, but it tasted great! "Oh man, that hit the spot. I never realized how thirsty I was." he said with a big grin. Now that he was starting to think better, he suddenly wondered how this was going to pan out. They were in an infirmary, and well a lot of dramatic things often happened in an infirmary. Like...

Amnesia. Huh, wonder if he could try it out? Just for fun, but he had to play it good or else she would think he was crazy. Then again, he probably already was, but it was still a good opportunity though! When would another situation like this present itself? "Thanks for bringing me here by the way. I don't really know where 'Blazed Dunes' is though. Pretty sure I..." he paused, pretending to be deep in thought - as if in a slight panic, "Actually, I don't remember where I was last. That's...odd..."

He wondered if she would buy it.

Serena was happy that he seemed to be feeling better, and that the water seemed to be helping.  Dehydration was a serious problem when it came to heat related fainting, and she figured keeping it extra cold would help with any heat-related problems he might still have.  The fact that he was able to talk normally and was able to recognize where she was sitting was a really good sign, even if it did take a moment for him to come to.  

Sadly, the slightly larger than average smile quickly returned to just her usual smile.  Even though he seemed to be doing better, he clearly wasn't all there yet.  Mental confusion and memory loss were common with heat-related fainting as far as she knew.  It normally went away after a little while, but it still made her a little sad.  Serena squirmed in her chair and wrung her hands for a moment while she tried to figure out what to say to him.

"Um...well the Blazed dunes are um, on the northern part of the island.  Um, they're not too far from where we are actually."  Serena looked down at her feet.  "Um...I don't know what you were doing there though...I just found you there.  Um...sorry."

Luu had let out a hum, thinking over the information she had told him, Northern part of the...island? So I'm on an island now." he had said these words slowly so that he wouldn't stumble upon them, and perhaps dragging it a little instead of his more fast paced talking would make it more convincing. He wondered how long he could keep it up though. If she ended up calling the doctor or something, then he'd have to admit he was just playing - and who knew how she'd react.

Unless, well, he could fake getting his memories back too. That could work.

"Well, you don't need to apologize." he started, "I don't really know what I was doing there either. Also, uh, this may sound alarming, but you don't, err..." he showed a sheepish smile, but he had forced it, "You don't happen to know who I am, do you? I, ah...can't remember...much..."

"Eh?"

Serena blinked a few times, surprised at what she was hearing.  Normally she was pretty good at hiding worry, but this had taken her so off guard that it showed all over her face.  Her eyes went wide, her eyebrows went down and her jaw hung open.  She was pretty sure the mental confusion caused by fainting due to head wasn't supposed to cause this kind of memory loss.  This must have been something else entirely.  Did anyone know about this?  Was it caused by his time in the dunes, or was he like this before?  Serena tugged at her lower lip and squirmed in her seat as she thought about what to do.

"N-No, um...s-sorry.  Um...I'd never met you before now.  Um...sh-should I go get the doctor?  Um...she might know something, and um...i-it might be a good idea to make sure nothing um...that um, you're okay after all that now that you're um, awake."

Oh, hey, she looked really surprised this time. Luu had to fight back the urge to smirk or laugh. She looked really worried, and wondered if he should just tell her that he was joking, but right now didn't seem like the right time. He wondered when would be the right time though - by then, would he have taken things too far? He hoped not.

Luu pretended to hang his head, looking rather disappointed, "Oh, well you did look like you didn't know me, so that's not very surprising." he muttered, "Hmm, a doctor?" what should he do? Reject or accept? It might be the end of the line for this little escapade if the doctor came, "Nah, it's not like I'm hurting anywhere real bad or anything. I think I just need to walk around or something, then maybe I'll remember stuff." he said with a grin, "I wonder if I live on this island...did I come here alone or with others? So many questions..." he scrunched up his nose a little, looking deep in thought.

Serena fidgeted in her chair while she thought about what to do.  As much as she wanted to respect his wishes, this could be really serious.  If she did nothing and then something bad happened to him because of that she wasn't sure if she could ever forgive herself.  Hopefully he wouldn't be too made.  She slowly, and a bit nervously, stood up and started heading for the door.

"U-Um...well, it's not really about feeling bad, it'd just be a good idea to make sure...um...right?  Um...If you've been going to this school long then um...sh-she should have a file of some kind so um...she should at least know who you are?  Um...that'd um, be a good thing too right?  Um...if you want to walk around for a bit, why don't you come with me?  She shouldn't be too far, but um...maybe it'd be better than sitting here?"
