[Deirdre Brennan]

Well, it was about that time already. Round two. This time around Deirdre wasn’t nearly as worried as she was before. The first class seemed to go pretty well, and no one seemed annoyed or frustrated at the very least. Overly quiet for some, perhaps. Other than that, it didn’t seem to be a terrible class. Now she just had to hope it went as well this time around, again.

A few days before class was planned, Deirdre had sent out a message to her students reminding them of the upcoming class, asking them to bring the hatchling from the egg they were given the previous class (provided they received one and had hatched it already), and announcing they would be going into detail about the egg groups in this class. It was a basic run down, but she did so in the hopes of keeping her students both well informed and up to date with what was going on in class so they could be prepared. Deirdre knew she did much better if she knew what to prepare for, and hoped to help any others that felt the same way she did. If not, there wasn’t any harm in being ready, either.

This time around, Quince was once again in the back with his saddlebag of eggs, this time fast asleep with his head resting on his legs. Nearby him, however, Olive the Nidoqueen sat watching over the group of hatchlings from the previous class, in addition to a few others. The large Pokémon sat patiently, smiling at the smaller baby Pokémon and herding them in closer if they began to grow rowdy. At the front of the class once again, Melon and Plum lay side by side, seemingly napping quietly.

She wore a pantsuit similar to last time, and a small red ribbon pinning a longer portion of her hair back to keep it out of her face. The music was still playing, although much more softly, more of an accent to the room than an interruption. It was a warmer day outside, so Deridre had one of the windows open to let in some fresh air.

Deirdre sat shuffling papers on her desk, arranging future plans and setting down a stack of papers going over the introduction of the last class at the edge of her desk for any newcomers to class to grab on their way to their seats. Today would be a slightly longer class, so Deirdre hoped to be completely on her “A” game as to get through it without a hitch. She was slightly more nervous about this class since it went further into detail, but she was still confident. Everything should go perfectly smoothly.

[Shane Norwood]

It was sad to say that Shane had missed out on all of the 'excitement' from the first breeding class session. That's not to say he wasn't interested or anything. After all, he was still a relatively new student. In fact, the Bolt pro-trainer-in-the-making would not be surprised at all if he was only one in the class who had not yet received some form of basic rundown of the class goes down. He would need to get the message quickly enough in order to get up to speed. But Shane was a smart kid. He'd get the hang of this whole breeding thing. Eventually.

Besides, what was the whole point of going to school if you had no intention of learning the material. It was no question that Shane had acknowledged the fact that there was more to pokemon than just battling and type advantages. There was also the concept of compatibility and groupings. That particular aspect however, was where he was going to need some serious help. And so it was no surprise that he'd be the first to arrive to this session, with Mickey the shiny Pichu perched on his right shoulder.

Upon entering he proceeded to grab a piece a paper outlining the introductory session that he could not be here for. For an introduction, it was well-detailed and concise. Maybe this wouldn't be so hard for him after all, but only time would tell. Beady eyes scanned the classroom, spotting a particular pony with...eggs strapped on it!? What in the name of Arceus was up with that? Surely that had to be some logical reasoning behind that, but he wouldn't dare to question it. Yet. Indeed it did pique his interest, that much was certain.

Shane positioned himself in a seat at the front of the room, and for now, he would observe.

[Serena Miller]

It was time for the second breeding class.  The entire subject still made Serena blush a bit, and she still found it awkward, but she wasn't nearly as worried as she was last time.  Last class went really well, and it wasn't weird at all.  The only thing she was even a little worried about was that the teacher wanted everyone to be more active in class.  Serena had a paralyzing fear of messing up, so actually having to do something but pay attention always made her a little worried.  Being in a situation where she could mess up in front of people was even worse.  With any luck, the teacher would just call on other people and she could just listen like she always did.

Serena was also a little worried that the teacher wanted them to bring their hatchlings.  Jozette was nice enough, so she probably wouldn't do anything too mean, but she was extremely curious and prone to wandering off if given half a chance.  Worse than that, she always grabbed random junk she found laying around and brought it back to Serena.  Seeing something even slightly shiny could make her wander around for quite some time.  Serena was also pretty sure that some of the things she grabbed belonged to other people too.  She really hoped Jozette wouldn't take anything important from anyone in class.  It would be hard to watch her the whole time.  Even now, she had to hug the teddiursa close to her chest just so wouldn't run off.  Jozette was trying pretty hard to squirm out of her arms, so Serena had to squeeze hard enough that she was worried about hurting the poor thing.

Once she made it to class, she took her usual spot in the center of the second row.  It looked like someone showed up to class before her for once, so she didn't need to perform any first arrival duties.  She could just remain quiet and try to control Jozette until class started.

[Lilith Sinclaire]

A cheerful tune escaped from Lilith's lips as she made her way down the teaching center and headed towards the Breeding Classroom. It was finally here, the date that her professor had scheduled their second breeding class session. It seemed like it had been forever since their last class had started and ended. Of course, it hasn't been too long, Lilith was just a bit impatient because she actually loved attending breeding class and learning even more about the art of breeding. Her main goal in life was to someday become a successful breeder after all. She had managed to earn her third Breeding Emblem this week and she was quite impressed with her own accomplishments in such a small amount of time. She had an air of confidence around her now. Still, she understood that she didn't know everything about breeding and that there were will a lot of things that she needed to learn about breeding and she is more than welling to learn. She recalled that the professor stated that she would like for all of the students in the classroom to become more active during their class session, which meant that Lilith would have to make herself speak up a a bit more in class. 

She carried her newly hatched Cubchoo in her gentle arms as she continued to make her way through the somewhat crowded hallway. A couple of more minutes and she had finally made her way into the classroom. A massive, warm smile curved against her lips as she greeted Ms. Brennan and her fellow students with a cheerful "Good morning." She gave her teacher a small bow before finding an empty next to her friend, Shane. "Hi Shane." She smiled at him before settling down into her seat and carefully placing Snow into her lap.

[Lithra Trease]

Short sleeves were not a good idea. Short sleeves were not a good idea when it came to holding a certain Inkay. Morrigan was not the easiest pokemon Lithra had by far and, when compared to grouchy personalities like Mira, the Inkay didn’t even respect Lithra. This was her first hatched egg from Ms. Brennan and the hatchling inside was a monster, a tentacled monster. Morrigan cared little for others, be that person or pokemon, and rarely listened to her trainer unless it benefited her. And it wasn’t as if Lithra treated the Inkay cruelly or didn’t care for her—far from it! If anything, Lithra was being overly nice to the Inkay in a way to woo over the pokemon’s friendship.

It wasn’t working.

Angry welts littered Lithra’s forearms as she wrestled with the Inkay, wincing as Morrigan’s tentacles pulled off of her with a loud ‘plop’. Why did the Inkay have to turn out like this? Why was the first example of her capabilities as a breeder have to be with Morrigan of all pokemon? The Inkay squirmed in Lithra’s grasp as the girl shifted Morrigan to the crook of her right arm, freeing the left to open the classroom door. Lithra froze.

Shane. Serena. Lilith.

Could she walk out? Would that be rude? Could she walk out and die of embarrassment because all of her friends were here and free to judge her? And why did it have to be Shane? She was never going to impress him at this rate. The Nature student waffled by the front door, green eyes flickering from the teacher to her friends and to the windows leading outside. If only she could just fly out of those. That may have been easier.

“Ow!” Lithra cried, looking down at Morrigan as the Inkay pecked at the trainer’s bare forearms. “Morrigan, please, don’t- don’t do that,” she hushed at the pokemon, grimacing through the unpleasant sensation. Should Lithra put the Inkay back in her pokeball now? Would Ms. Brennan want something as distracting as Morrigan out and about?

Carrying the Inkay to a seat, not before stealing a surprised look at Lilith and Shane together, Lithra sat behind them and next to Serena. “Hey guys…” she whispered, watching as Morrigan’s suckers made another line of red welts on her wrist. Bell wouldn’t have done this. Seeing Serena’s own bundle of wiggling fur, Lithra gave her Lava friend a weak smile. “You too, eh?”

This place was so confusing! If not for her roommate also attending, Toni was sure she’d wind up lost and late, if not missing class altogether. She missed her home and how small and cozy it was, but she knew better than to dwell on that. She had agreed to the academy, after all, and it was definitely too late to turn back now. Besides, she was still new here…maybe she’d come to know the area well enough to get around on her own.

Maybe.

Toni had followed Lilith most of the way, but fears and other thoughts distracted her, and she ended up falling behind. Fortunately, she was close enough to find her way to class without Lilith. Unfortunately, some other girl was blocking the way inside. Toni waited a moment, and then pretended to be obsessed with smoothing out her uniform as she noticed that the girl seemed to be having trouble with her Pokemon. She wasn’t sure what the proper thing to do would be. Should she offer help? Continue ignoring it so the other girl could save face? How much time did she have before class started and she was counted late? But before she could work out an answer to her worries, the girl moved, and Toni was able to enter the classroom.

She headed inside, grabbed a paper from the teacher’s desk since hadn’t been able to attend the last class, and looked around for an empty seat. Would she be welcome with the others, or should she find a seat away from them? She didn’t want to cause trouble…

Eventually, she settled on an empty seat in a back corner of the room. There, she’d be out of everyone’s way. Maybe by next class she’ll have made a friend she could sit next to without worrying. At least, she hoped so. For now, though, she should focus on learning. She looked over the paper she’d taken earlier, giving it a quick read-over while waiting for things to start.

[Jasper King]

Jasper had heard about this class and regretted missing the first one. He had hatched his shiny Froakie Quartz however so he wasn't all that worried about not hatching one given in the class. He was more than ready to learn all he could though as it would bring him one step closer to being a researcher. Wondering what was in store for this class made him get jittery and excited. He almost couldn't contain himself. Many thoughts ran through Jasper's mind. Would they study specific egg groups, would they study cross breeding, learning techniques through breeding? The questions made him even more jittery and Quartz, who was perched on his shoulder could tell and began getting jittery as well.


Since this was going to be his first class he wondered what kind of people he would meet in this strange new land. He hasn't met anyone as yet and this would be one of his first chances to interact with new people. He especially hoped to meet with people from the various dorms, mostly so he could see the different types of pokemon. He also wouldn't mind getting to know the teacher. Hopefully the staff here was as nice as the staff at his dad's shop or the other researchers who worked with his mom.


Upon entering the class, Jasper spotted a few other students. 'Well at least I'm not late.' He thought to himself as he counted the 5 other students in the class. He collected a paper from the desk as he missed the first class. He glanced over the paper before turning his attention back to the classroom. He scanned over the remaining available seats, wondering where to sit and as if to answer him Quartz leapt from Jasper's shoulder to the chair in the front row by the window. Jasper walked over to Quartz and scooped him up and sat in the chair before diving into the paper, reading it intently. As he read it Quartz stared out of the window in amazement of the outside.

[Crispin Yates]

Despite how he wasn’t as intent on learning about Breeding as he was about battling, he was still looking forward to his next class. Crispin had been more than a little disappointed when he discovered the other teacher he had class with left the school, but it wasn’t as though it was the end of the world. What he was worried about was what he read when he got Ms. Brennan’s e-mail.

He hadn’t hatched his egg yet.

It wasn’t as though he didn’t want to. It just seemed stubborn and comfortable in it’s egg as he went through his usual explorations around the island. Whoever was in the egg, Crispin wouldn’t be surprised if it was as lazy hatched as it was with hatching. Regardless, he brought the egg at least with him to class held in his arms. He didn’t want his teacher to think that he hadn’t been at least trying to make progress with her gift, and hoped at the very least she could provide some insight on what it was he was doing wrong. That was her job after all, right?

Walking into class, he noticed there was already a decent amount of other students. A couple familiar faces, some new ones, and some that were here the last time but weren’t here now. He also noticed how Ms. Brennan was clearing her throat and apparently getting ready to stand up, so he silently cursed at himself for almost being late. First he didn’t hatch his egg, and now he was cutting it close. His teacher surely would end up being livid at him at this rate.

Nodding his greetings to Ms. Brennan and the rest of the students, he hustled back to the back of the class near where the Rapidash sat, remembering how Ms. Deirdre had told them about the Pokémon’s ability last class. Maybe he would get lucky and it would be close enough to help his egg hatch a bit. His hair seemed to rustle atop his head as Jove peeked out from his nest and glanced around the room, chattering quietly to himself.

Deirdre had mixed feelings as the students trickled in. There were some faces she didn’t see this time around she hoped she would see again, but there were also some new faces. It was a little bit disheartening to see some students not interested in returning, but at least others decided to come despite not wanting to come the first time. That gave her a little bit more hope. Glancing at the clock, she knew she couldn’t procrastinate for too much longer. Clearing her throat, she pushed her chair from her desk and stood up with a few fold-able sheets of paper.

“Hello, class,” she began, smiling warmly around to the students. Walking around to those who weren’t here last time, she placed one of the pieces of paper on each of their desks. “Please put your name on this card and fold it so that your name faces the front of the class.” Heading back to the front of the class, seemingly favoring a leg with each step she took, she turned back to face them all. “Welcome back to those of you who were here last time, and welcome for those who weren’t! Last time was mainly an introduction, but this time we will be going into a little bit more detail.

“Before we start that, I see most of you brought your hatchlings with you, wonderful! And if your egg hasn’t hatched yet, don’t be ashamed, it sometimes takes time.” She gave an empathetic look to the boy who only brought an egg. Looking to the others, she gave a similar look to the poor young lady whose hatchling seemed to be problematic. Olive noticed this too, and the Nidoqueen gestured to the hatchlings she was caring for to stay put. Walking over near the student, she knelt slightly and tilted her head, clicking her tongue as she seemed to chastise the young Pokémon for misbehaving.

“Don’t feel bad, Lithra,” she said, glancing briefly to the student’s namepaper from last time, “it takes time, and every Pokémon acts differently. That’s part of their charm, in my opinion. If you’d like, don’t be afraid to let Olive watch her for you along with the other hatchlings during class.” Gently holding her arms together, she glanced to the door. Even if others were on the way, she couldn’t procrastinate forever.

“Okay, as I told you in the e-mail, we will be discussing Egg Groups today. Can anyone mention any of them?” Hesitating for a moment, she cocked her head and grinned mischievously, “On that note, here’s a somewhat tricky question… does anyone happen to know what egg group Olive belongs to?” At the mention of her name, the Nidoqueen seemed to roll her eyes and shake her head, giving Deirdre an exasperated look.

Lilith smiled and nodded her head at a few of fellow classmates, who had recently made their way inside of the classroom. She remembered a lot of their faces from their previous class, but there were also a couple of faces that she did not recognize. A slight frown spread across her face as she witness Serena's hatchling giving her a hard time. Perhaps, she would ask her friend if she could help her out with her newborn after class. She had spent a decent amount of time researching human and Pokemon dynamics. 

"Hi Lithra!" Lilith greeted her friend with bright smile. She could tell that Lithra wasn't feeling too good about her newborn's behavior. Lilith just hoped that her friend wasn't taking it too personal. It wasn't her fault that she hatched a Pokemon with a difficult personality. It just meant that the Pokemon would take a lot more patience and hard work to establishing a meaningful bond with it. Lilith attention soon drifted away from Lithra after noticing her new roommate entering the classroom. She must have been so excited about making to the Breeding classroom on time that she had left the poor girl behind. Luckily for her, Toni had managed to make it to class on time. Still, that did not stop Lilith from feeling a little bad about leaving her behind. She knew was it as like being one of the new students on campus. Lilith's piercing blue eyes watched as her roommate decided to take a seat towards the back corner of the classroom. "Toni! Please, come sit with us!" She called out in a voice loud enough for the other girl to hear her. 

A couple of more minutes passed and Ms. Brennan had finally made her way towards the front of the class. It must have been time to get things started now. Lilith thought to herself as she felt herself growing even more excited on the inside. She take a sheet of paper and neatly wrote her name on it before folding it into a form that would easily stand up on her desk. A few giggles escaped from her mouth as she noticed Snow attempting to reach for it. Unfortunately for the baby Cubchoo, her arms were a little too short.

It wasn't long before Ms. Brennan had proposed her first question to the classroom. Right then and there Lilith started debating with herself. Should she answer the question or should she let someone else answer it instead. During the last session she did not allow herself to speak and found herself regretting it afterwards. As of right now, she wanted to speak, but she didn't want to come across as the know-it-all type of student. She bit down on her bottom lip before clearing her voice before deciding to speak up. "Uh. there are a total of fifteen different egg groups, I believe.  Bug, Field, Flying, Fairy, Grass, Human-like, Mineral, Amorphous, Monster, Ditto, Dragon, Water 1, Water 2, Water 3, and Undiscovered. As far as Olive goes... If I'm not mistaken. She falls into the Undiscovered Egg group, meaning that she cannot breed with any other Pokemon. Which is a little weird because Nidoking is a member of the Monster and Field Egg group and he has the ability to breed with other Pokemon." She explained before realizing how much she had been speaking now. She soon felt her pale cheeks growing a bright red hue. Smooth Lilith, very smooth. She thought to herself.

[Jasper King]

As he sat there Jasper watched as the other classmates interacted with each other. He smirked to himself as he saw their pokemon and chuckled slightly when he saw the markings on one of their wrists left by the Inkay. He wondered what they covered last week as he saw the boy with his egg unhatchwhile the others who didn't take up a paper had Inkays. He began coming up for names for an inkay if he ever got one. Regrettably he didn't make it to that class. All Jasper could do now is focus on the upcoming lesson.


He watched as the teacher came around and placed the cards on the tables. He wrote his name in large bold and clear letters. He then folded the card and played with it in his hands. At that moment his rather eager Froakie, Quartz jumped back onto the table and stared at the card with his usual childlike amazement. Quartz tilted his head before looking up at Jasper  and jumping onto his head as the class began. There Quartz stayed and watched as the teacher walked around and at the other pokemon in the class. Quartz's eyes lit up as he began to wonder if the other pokemon were as friendly as he was. Jasper reached up and rubbed Quartz's head.


As soon as the teacher began the actual lesson Jasper's mind was sharp and focused on her words. As soon as she posed her questio Jasper was more than ready to answer but the female with the adorable little Cubchoo had already answered. He was impressed with how quickly and correctly she answered, especially her part pointing out the controversy between Nidoking's egg group and Nidoqueen's unknown egg group. He would have to keep an eye on the young lady as she seemed pretty smart. She stopped speaking and her cheeks got a bit brighter.

"This may be unrelated Miss, but while most pokemon keep their egg group throughout their several forms, many of them in their baby forms belong to seperate groups than their later forms." He said picking up after the female student. "However once they evolve the egg groups tend to stay the same, similar to your Nidoqueen, Olive. As a Nidoran♀ she was in the Monster and Field egg groups but upon evolving to a Nidorina her egg group changed and she is no longer in a compatible egg group with her male counter part, Nidoking." He finished up, quite condifent in his answer and cleared his throat. He wondered if he came off as a show off and felt slightly uncomfortable with the ide but then he dismissed it.

A couple other students entered class after her, and she gave each a brief, subtle nod, wanting to acknowledge them but not having the courage to approach at this time. It was for the best – class would be starting any moment now. She noticed that most of the other students seemed to have Pokemon with them and she wondered if she should let Moonstone out of her ball. Maybe if asked…she didn’t want to make a production of it right now, though. Besides, it wouldn’t hurt the Fennekin to get some extra rest in. She had plans for later that depended on her being fighting fit.

Then she heard her name, and her gaze snapped toward Lilith as she called her over. She looked from her roommate to her companions and back. She was being invited over? But…was that okay? No one seemed to complain, and she really didn’t want to be sitting all by herself, so she smiled gratefully and took a seat near Lilith, just in time for class to begin.

She watched as the teacher stood and greeted the class, nodding to her in response since she wasn’t sure if speaking would be appropriate. She stared at the paper she was given until the teacher explained what it was for, and then she write her name and folded the paper just as she saw a couple of her fellow students do. She frowned when she noticed that the teacher seemed to be limping. What had happened? Would she be all right?

The teacher went over things that didn’t seem to apply to her at all, so she focused on the paper she’d taken earlier, hoping to catch up to everyone who’d been able to attend last time. She was halfway listening to the class, still, and her attention returned to the teacher in full when she started to go over the day’s lesson. She asked who could mention any of the egg groups and what group the Nidoqueen belonged to, and Toni froze. She could name a couple egg groups…maybe a little more than a couple. That was pretty much the extent of her knowledge, though. Fortunately, Lilith seemed to know quite a lot more, and Toni’s head swam at the answer. How did she know so much already? Well…she was a few years older than Toni herself was, wasn’t she? Of course she’d be further along. She seemed embarrassed by her knowledge, though. Why? Toni smiled at her, hoping to encourage her. It was never a bad thing to know something, was it?

Then a student she didn’t know – one of the ones that had come in after her, she thought – added to her answer, talking about Pokemon changing egg groups. She thought of her two Pokemon. Would they change their egg groups as they evolved? How would that affect her? This class was already confusing…she hoped she’d be able to keep up with the others…maybe having Lilith as a roommate would help her to eventually understand all this.

[Serena Miller]

Serena winced when she saw Lithra enter the classroom.  It was such a shame too, she was so excited about hatching that egg.  Serena was feeling a little fortunate that her hatchling was just a little squirmy with no interest in actually hurting her.  She tried not to stare for too long though, Lithra probably felt embarrassed enough without all eyes on her.  When she sat down and asked about her own hatchling, Serena looked down and nodded.

"She's very...spirited.  She really likes collecting anything laying around..."

Several other people poured into the room, some of which she recognized, most of which she actually didn't.  It was nice to see so many new people, she wondered what they were all like.  Serena didn't plan to just go up and talk to them all yet, as much as she wanted to.  What would they even talk about?  The last thing she wanted to was to annoy them.

Soon the class started proper.  She had to put Jozette into a bit of headlock in order to free a hand to write her name on the card like last class, but she managed.  As nice as the teacher's offer to let her own pokemon watch the students' hatchlings was, Jozette was still her responsibility, and she didn't want to just dump her on someone else.  Fortunately, it was pretty easy to keep her under control while sitting down. 

Serena had absolutely no experience with breeding because her mother didn't want her to go into it at such a young age for some reason, so she was content to listen.  It was fortunate that other people knew the answers to these questions so the classroom wouldn't be too awkward.  It looked like this class would involve a lot of memorization, which was easier for her than some other things.  Before committing that list to memory, it would be best to make sure it was correct and that there wasn't anything missing, so she waited for the teacher to confirm it.

Soon enough, more students would arrive. Some of which he was adequately familiar with, and others...well...not so much. And there were even some whose faces he was seeing for the very first time. Perhaps in due time, he would have an opportunity to get to know these other students. Or maybe not. Perhaps he was thinking too much on it. Whatever. Nonetheless, this would make an intriguing class session, especially considering the possibility of everyone getting involved. Well, that is to say, everyone except Shane himself.

There was still so much to learn about Pokemon from every possible angle. And if he wished to fulfill his fantasy of becoming a professional trainer, then he would need to the ins-and-outs of each of those specific angles. Of course, those angles were taken into consideration as he proceeded to return greetings to each of his familiar colleagues and new ones alike. "Hey there, nice to see you guys."

Mickey greeted the familiar students as well by rushing up to them to give a quick hug on their arms, them namely being Lilith and Lithra. Or rather, half of a hug with those small arms of his. "Someone's happy to see you as well." He then briefly examined the baby Pokemon they had brought along with them as Shane went on to put his name down on paper provided to him and display it. The baby with the tentacles seemed like a handful indeed. The Pichu would also greet the other students nearby as well, then retake his position atop his trainer's shoulder.

Shane couldn't help but to sympathize for his dear Nature friend, because really, he could relate to the struggle of handling a fresh hatchling. In all seriousness, he didn't know the first thing about raising a Pokemon from scratch initially. In truth, he still doesn't, but he had help from his professional breeder of a father. He wouldn't even begin to guess where to begin here. Oddly enough, that's really the whole reason he joined this class in the first place; to be able to take that first step in raising Pokemon with no regrets.

The Bolt trainer also felt for the two students who had opted to isolate themselves from the rest of the group. Sure, they must have their reasons. Still, you could only get so far on your own...

The class had soon officially kicked off with the question of various eggs groups in existence? Really, there was a variety here? There was more than one type of egg? Surely enough, Shane was happy to hear that it was a rather open-ended question. Because let's be real here, he wouldn't know the answer to that right off the top of his head. Nor would he ever.

In turn, he was relieved to hear Lilith come through with an incredibly detailed response. And as if that weren't enough, another dude in the class would add to it. One thing was certain, and it was that it will take a great deal of time and some much needed tutoring for the boy to feel confident enough to be able to properly participate in this particular class.

It surprised Lithra how many people trickled in after she had arrived. A lot of them she didn’t recognize, though the other Nature student seemed familiar if only by constant exposure. She wished that those who walked in and saw their little group and then walked further away hadn’t done that. They were all peers in this class and, when it came down to it, they could all be friends for the most part if everyone tried. Still, she couldn’t blame people if they were shy or anti-social. If the world was made of the same personality then it wouldn’t be a very fun world. Or realistic for that matter.

“Hey Lilith,” Lithra beamed back, securing her grip on Morrigan as she spoke. Now Lilith’s hatchling was an enviable sight indeed. Well behaved, calm, relaxed in Lilith’s arms as if nothing in the world could rattle the icy-white creature. “What’s their name?” Lithra asked, knowing she might not get a response before class starts, but wanting to ask anyway. Pokemon names were just as important as human ones! As Lilith called over the youngest looking student in the room, another Mana one, Lithra greeted her kindly. “Please do sit with us! We won’t bite.” Lithra glanced down at her sore arms, her smile growing sheepish. “Okay, we the humans won’t bite. But it’s nice to meet you, Toni.”

Feeling another tentacle wrap around her, Lilith rocked the Inkay in her arms, trying to soothe its terrible malice. “She likes collecting things?” Lithra repeated back to Serena, a true smile forming on the Nature girl’s face. “That’s cute! You’ll have to show me what kind of things later.” It would be neat to see what Sernea’s newborn found interesting in the world-- to see the pokemon’s own little passions and personality develop. Between her friends who received eggs, it looked like only Lithra had hatched the bad, er, bad egg.

Still! There was someone she hadn’t talked to yet and that was a person Lithra had been itching to see again since their last meeting. “How are you doing?” she asked Shane, eyes lighting up when she saw Mickey was with him. So wrapped up in her own concerns and problems with Morrigan, Lithra hadn’t even see her favorite Electric pokemon. “Mickey!” Lithra greeted, showering the Pichu in enthuasm and love as he wrapped his small arms around her. “I’d hug you back but my arms are a little tied,” she explained to Mickey with a playful wink. Morrigan, however, did not like Mickey’s actions and hissed at him as he returned back to Shane.

Lithra felt herself sinking lower into the chair. “Don’t do that…” she chided the Inkay. Mickey was a good pokemon and Shane and important person to Lithra, she didn’t need Morrigan upsetting either one of them. But there was no more time for greetings or conversation as the teacher started collecting herself and the classroom. When she noticed Lithra, and then called her out with the Inkay, the Nature student turned red. While she didn’t like the attention (who would?) she was actually grateful that Ms. Brennan had noticed her plight and was offering help.

The affection behind the teacher’s actions made Lithra feel better. “Thank you, Ms. Brennan,” Lithra replied as a large pokemon tottered over to them. There was a kindness in Olive’s eyes that made Lithra instantly trust the older pokemon as Morrigan clacked her beak back at Olive’s rebuke. Offering Olive the Inkay, Lithra waited for the Nidoqueen to scoop up her trouble making Inkay and leave Lithra to learn. While it wasn’t often that Lithra would ask for help, she wouldn’t refuse it when given to her. She wasn’t above assistance.

Freed of her Inkay, Lithra felt ready to learn. Rubbing her tentacle marked wrists, Lithra pulled out the materials she would need to take today’s notes. It didn’t surprise Lithra that her friend took the lead on answer the question. Lilith was going to be Queen of breeding and something as easy as this question was sure to be right up the Mana student’s alley. As for the new Bolt student, his answer did surprise her. She smiled over at the white haired boy, writing down his answer right next to where she had jotted down Lilith’s response.

It was nice to have an active class for a change.
