Sylvia spotted the teacher standing up from her desk while still examining the wall and took this as a sign that class was starting. She turned on her heels, made her way over to her desk and slid down in the chair just in time to catch her introductory speech. She folded her hands in front of her, only to slide them of the desk again when the sheet of paper was placed on her desk. After a quick rummage through her bag, she pulled out a pen and a notepad for notes. Then she folded the paper in half and wrote 'Sylvia' on one of the sides before propping it on her desk. She always liked it when teachers asked the class to do something like this. It was clearly for the teacher's benefit, but she thought it was nice to know the names of her classmates too.
Sylvia spun her pen between her fingers idly while listening. Although it was a given for the first class, she was secretly relieved that she planned to go over the basics. She appreciated the straightforwardness of the Battle Tactics class, and she'd actually learned something during their brief encounter with Ms. Ivers, but it was nice that this class was going to be a bit more fleshed out. Breeding interested her a little more, after all.
The Luxray, presumably Ms. Brennan's, had caught her eye as the opening remarks continued. She let herself get distracted while she admired him. Watching him brought Ark to mind - one day, he would look just as cool. She bit back a laugh, then turned her attention back on the teacher in time to notice that she was no longer talking. Not talking? No, instead, apparently one of her classmates, Kotone, had begun speaking. Answering a question, it seemed like. Uh oh, she thought, biting her lip. Well, she'd missed out on that one. Best to just listen and try to catch the details as they come.
It didn't take long to piece together what they were talking about. The Rapidash in the back, according to her two answering classmates, was warming the eggs that were strapped to him. One of the only two guys in the class - she read his paper on his desk - Tyson had even stated that it was probably due to an Ability that he had. Very interesting. She made a quick note on her notepad. She didn't think it would've been particularly fair of her to speak up considering she hadn't even heard the question, so she stayed silent. There wasn't much that she could add anyway, since the two answers had been solid.
