Gray Haven Academy allows for many different types of characters. Here's an explanation of the different types of groups and positions characters can fill.
Students make up the bulk of the people at the academy and are the very life blood of it. Without students here to learn there would be no academy in the first place. Students are children and young teens here to learn about the world of pokemon. Whether that be how to battle, breed, perform or any combination of subjects is up to each student. A full list of classes, their rewards and their descriptions can be found under the "Teachers" section in this thread.
Age Requirements: 10 - 16 years
Pokemon Limits:
1) All students start with 2 pokemon.
2) They can come from the character's backstory if desired. If the student doesn't have two pokemon before coming to the academy, the academy will provide the student with pokemon instead.
3) Both these pokemon must be base-form pokemon, though they can be pokemon that don't evolve if desired. Beyond that, they can be any non-legendary species of pokemon.
4) Both pokemon's species, gender, ability and shininess may be chosen by the player.
5) Both pokemon can start with up to 4 level up moves chosen by the player. If the pokemon in question does not have 4 level up moves (such as Beldum) then they will start with less moves. TMs, HMs, Breeding Moves, Tutor Moves or Event Moves may not be chosen on a starter pokemon.
6) A student may not start with any held items.
Availability: Students will always be available to be made. There no restrictions on the amount of students that can exist at once.
When a student joins the academy, they will be assigned one of five dorms based on their starter pokemon. The player can choose the dorm they want their character to be in. The only restriction is that at least one of their starter pokemon must have a type that matches with the dorm's types. The school likes to at least try to keep the number of students in each dorm to be somewhat even in order to encourage a spirit of competitiveness between the dorms. As such, sometimes students will be encouraged to go into certain dorms, and in dire situations, some dorms may not accept students for a time.
If a dorm's status is "Allowed" then characters may be created in that dorm.
If a dorm's status is "Encouraged" then it would be really great if characters were created in that dorm.
If a dorm's status is "Not Allowed" than no more characters may be created in that dorm for the time being.

Additional dorm information
1) Each dorm has two sides: one side for the male students and one side for the female students. Members of the opposite sex are allowed to visit each other's dorms during the day, but must leave by 8PM.
2) Each dorm room holds two people. Roommates must be of the same sex and rooms must be claimed. Each dorm has a room claim in them.
3) Each room contains a television, a bathroom with a shower, its own kitchen area complete with a medium-sized refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, some shelves, silverware, and a sink. While the kitchen is well stocked with tools, it is not stocked with food; students that wish to cook instead of eat in the cafeteria will have to buy their own food. Each student also has their own bed, a dresser, a desk to work at, and a nightstand with a lamp. Students are free to bring along anything they want to add from home.
4) Students are not allowed to switch dorms after approval. However, they are allowed to switch rooms at any time, especially if their old room mate left the academy for any reason.
Teachers are the people that run classes and actually teach the students the knowledge and skills they need to know to be a successful trainer. They are normally accomplished trainers themselves, and are skilled in their respective areas. As such, certain teachers are assumed to have accomplished many of the things that students get rewarded for on their journey.
Battle Tactics teachers start with all the gym badges.
Breeding teachers start with all the breeding emblems.
Coordination teachers start with all the ribbons.
All staff have access to the restricted areas and can use mega stones.
Here is a list of classes:
Battle Tactics: This is your iconic Battling class meant to help teach students the more advanced techniques in battling. Participating in a class (as recognized by the teacher) rewards each student with 1 Rare Candy.
Exploration: Exploration class is almost always spent outdoors where students will learn to navigate, explore, and survive on their own. Participating in a class (as recognized by the teacher) allows students to participate in a third exploration/catching thread for that week.
Physical Education: This class doubles as a way to keep students in good physical condition as well as a method to teach them how to keep safe when dealing with wild Pokemon. Participating in a class (as recognized by the teacher) will award the student's Pokemon partner for the session with 1 Exp. Point.
Breeding: Breeding class teaches everything from the basics of breeding, to how to hatch your egg, to the perks that breeding Pokemon has. Lessons on where babies come from aren't included. Participating in a class (as recognized by the teacher) allows the acquisition of 1 free Pokemon Egg of a random variety.
Coordination: This class teaches students how to train their pokemon to perform rather than battle. It focuses on how to make pokemon the coolest, most beautiful, cutest, cleverest, and toughest pokemon out there. They also teach how to win over judges and woo audiences. Participating in a class (as recognized by the teacher) rewards each student with 1 pokeblock of the student's choice.
Age Requirements: no younger than 21
Pokemon Limits:
1) Teachers may start with up to 10 pokemon, though they may start with less if desired.
2) These pokemon can be of any evolution level, and any non-legendary species.
3) Their gender, ability and shininess may be chosen by the player.
4) These pokemon may have up to 10 moves, though they may have less if desired. TMs, HMs, Breeding Moves, Tutor Moves or Event Moves are allowed.
5) Any of these pokemon may start with held items, including mega stones, if desired.

Beyond that, there are a few requirements that teachers have.
1) Teachers must run classes sometimes. They generally shouldn't be run more than once a month, and should be run at least once every 2 months.
2) As of now, no teachers can be Team Origin spies.
3) If you find yourself unable to run classes for more than two months, let a staff member know or leave a notice in the away board. We're fairly lenient with that because we understand that life comes first, but if it happens too often your position may be taken away from you.
These people handle the administrative side of the school. They maintain facilities, help students, and provide them with many of the tools necessary to help them succeed.

Wardens (Gym Leaders and Directors)
These are former students who had recently graduated from the academy themselves and now serve as supervisors at the dorm they once attended. Here they keep the students in line and act as mentors. They also operate challenges for students interested in battling and coordination. In order to facilitate that, Wardens come in two types: Gym Leaders and Directors. Gym leaders facilitate the gym battles for Gray Haven Academy and Directors facilitate the contests. As such all gym leader type Wardens start with all the badges and all the director type Wardens start with all the ribbons. It's assumed that they earned them during their time as a student.
Each dorm has 6 Wardens. Two males, two females, two of either gender. Likewise, two Wardens are gym leaders, two directors, and two of either kind.
Age Requirements: No younger than 19; no older than 26
Pokemon Limits:
Gym Leaders
1) Their challenge teams are made up of 12 pokemon. The setup is below.
2) All of a gym leader's challenge pokemon must match the types their dorm represents, even if it's only via secondary typing.
3) If desired 2 optional pokemon for their personal team. These pokemon do not have to match their dorm's types, and may be of any evolution level, and may have up to 10 moves.
4) The player can choose all of the above's species, gender, ability and shininess.
5) The player can also pick the moves, as long as they match the rules given below. They can be level up moves, TMs, HMs, Egg Moves, Tutor Moves and Event Moves from any Generation. They can also come from a previous evolution.
6) A gym leader's challenge team must be laid out like this, and the held items can be any item desired, including mega stones:
Tier 1: 6 fully evolved pokemon. These pokemon can have 10 moves and held items.
Tier 2: 3 mid-tier "not fully evolved" pokemon. These pokemon should be weaker than the fully evolved ones, can have held items, and should only have 6 moves. Non-evolving pokemon are fine.
Tier 3: 3 base form pokemon. These pokemon should only have 4 moves and should not have held items
Directors
1) Their challenge teams are made up of 9 pokemon. The setup is below.
2) Each director has a specialty in one contest type (Cool, Beauty, Cute, Clever, Tough). As such, their pokemon do not have to match the types of the dorm they represent, instead they represent the type of contest they specialize in. A Director's team may also correlate with their supporting type team (see chart for reference). IE, a Cool type warden can also have pokemon that compete in Beauty and Tough contests.
6) A director's challenge team must be laid out like this, and the held items can be any item desired, including mega stones:
Tier 1: 3 fully trained pokemon. These pokemon can have 10 moves and held items. They should have 3 maxed out (10) contest stats: 1 for the kind of contest this pokemon will compete in, and 2 for the supporting types. This means that if the warden is Cool, but the pokemon is meant to compete in Beauty contests (as that is a supporting type to Cool contests), that they would get 10 in Beauty, Cool, and Cute, instead of Cool, Beauty and Tough. Pokemon in this tier can be of any evolution level.
Tier 2: 3 mid-tier "not fully trained" pokemon. These pokemon should be weaker than the fully evolved ones, can have held items, and should only have 6 moves. These pokemon should have a contest stat of 6. They should not be fully evolved pokemon (unless they do not evolve at all), but can be base form pokemon if desired.
Tier 3: 3 base form pokemon. These pokemon should only have 4 moves and should not have held items. They should have a contest stat of 2. These pokemon should all be in their base forms and single evolution pokemon should not be used.
Directors can only hand out Ribbons that correspond to their chosen specialty. The only exception is if a Director for a specific type has not been created and it falls under your Director's supporting type.
Note: All Warden (Gym Leader and Director) pokemon should have been raised by the Warden themselves. The pokemon in the challenge teams should not be trained further, so that they remain at the proper difficulty for any challengers. While you are allowed to change moves and pokemon this must be done via normal methods of capture and exp gain. Consult mods first before changing out pokemon as we'd like to keep these teams stable for students to prepare against.

Harmonia Island has its own villainous team with its own agenda that it wishes to fulfill. Team Origin was only recently formed, being only three years old. Though the group grows stronger every day, its goals and motives remain a mystery to all except the leader and a few trusted admins. The only hint towards their goal? The name 'Origin.' The team sports a mainly Pink and Black uniform style and they generally hang out in Mavro City. Members of the team may climb the ranks of the organization to make a name for themselves.
Members are encouraged to do 'anything that can help their cause.' This includes stealing pokemon, money, and resources to help fuel research for their ultimate plan. Though most of these jobs take the form of missions, many members are free to do their own thing in hopes that it will set them apart from the rest and be promoted. Last but certainly not least, Team Origin is aware of the threat that the Academy poses towards it. The leadership deems it to be in their best interest to wipe them out any way that they can. Not only are the students and staff rivals to Team Origin, they are targets.
Some Origin members are set as undercover agents to spy on the Academy. These spies appear as regular students to the faculty and student body alike. More info on them can be found in the Promotion Center within the Origin Hideout.Their base is located within Mavro City, where all members generally live.
Because Team Origin is a relatively new organization, no characters will have a long history with them.
Age Requirements: No younger than 13
Uniform Colors: Pink, Black, and White (granted most people don't wear one)
Pokemon Limits:
1) All Team Origin start with 2 pokemon.
2) They can come from the character's backstory if desired. If the member doesn't have two pokemon before joining Team Origin, Team Origin will provide the member with pokemon instead.
3) Both these pokemon must be base-form pokemon, though they can be pokemon that don't evolve if desired. Beyond that, they can be any non-legendary species of pokemon.
4) Both pokemon's species, gender, ability, and shininess may be chosen by the player.

6) A Team Origin member may not start with any held items.
Availability: Team Origin Members will always be available to be made. There no restrictions on the amount of Team Origin members that can exist at once.

Lava Dorm
Sitting at the foot of Mount Magmadyne lies the Lava Dorm. Due to being near the volcano the dorm stays relatively hot, making air conditioning a necessity. It sports an overall flame motif and has an a cable car leading to the mountains outer surface and a passage into it, though for anyone who tries to enter the volcano they are asked to have water Pokemon, or water Pokemon trainers in their company, as even though the volcano is inactive, it is still very hot.Uniform Colors: Red, Orange, and Brown
Types: Fire, Dragon, and Rock
Status: Encouraged
Wave Dorm
The Wave Dorm sits on Harmonia Beach, its walls blue with an overall wave motif. The Wave Dorm is the only dorm where all rooms face out to the beach, giving a spectacular view of the ocean and easy access to the beach. Water flows through the main lobby keeping most of the building relatively cool, while the ocean breeze does the rest. Though heating is available in all rooms if students ever feel uncomfortable in their new homes. The students who live here have chosen to start with Water, Ice, or Poison type Pokemon.Uniform Colors: Blue, Light Blue, and Purple
Types: Water, Ice, and Poison
Status: Encouraged
Nature Dorm
The Nature Dorm sits in the middle of Mother Edea's Forest. It is built around "The Lifebringer" a giant tree where many Pokemon nest. Its walls and floors are all made of wood and though the building itself is man made, branches sprout out from its walls and bug Pokemon have begun to hang from these growths, as if the dorm itself is a part of the forest.Uniform Colors: Green, Pink, and Cream
Types: Grass, Bug, Fairy, and Ground
Status: Encouraged
Mana Dorm
A renovated clone of Blancblack Manor. It has been sized up considerably to allow for both a male and female side. Nevertheless, the manor still retains its other worldly feel and unlike its abandoned original, lacks any wild Pokemon. It is the only dorm to have a library, though it has more of a historical collection than anything else. Uniform Colors: Black, White, and Violet
Types: Ghost, Dark, and Psychic
Status: Encouraged
Bolt Dorm
Lightning rods are off in the distance of this dorm. It sits on the Blissfury Plains and is the most technical of the dorms. A number of robotics are used for the student's convenience and are all running off of the electricity used provided by the lightning rods. Its walls sport an electric motif. Students are asked to take extreme caution when approaching the lightning rods during their explorations as the shock can prove lethal.Uniform Colors: Navy Blue, Yellow, and Silver
Types: Electric, Steel, Flying, and Fighting
Status: Encouraged

Team Origin
6) A Team Origin member may not start with any held items.
Availability: Team Origin Members will always be available to be made. There no restrictions on the amount of Team Origin members that can exist at once.
